Hello 15 Dufferin Road: my fifth Passive House, (finally) certified by both @PHIUS1 and @the_iPHA (almost three years after occupancy). Why bother with the additional cost and administration? So I can speak to the differences between the processes based on first hand experience.

Trees are (finally) being planted for the @NCC_CCN in the public space between Stanley Avenue and River Lane to replace those that have been falling for over a decade. Thanks to @New_Edinburgh for their endorsement of this initiative and @TeamTobi_Ott for shepherding the process.

I would have thought the 13 yellow and blue flags between Stanley Avenue and River Lane were locating water and gas lines for some future dig if was less familiar with the effort that has gone into encouraging the @NCC_CCN to plant this little triangle of public space with trees.

Bordeleau Park dock on the Rideau River

No. Not at the cottage. This public dock is in Lowertown’s Bordeleau Park, right across the Rideau River from Stanley Park in New Edinburgh. This great @ottawacity facility provides excellent access to one of the three important watercourses around which our city was founded.

@NCC_CCN In Rockcliffe Park across the field from the Pavilion right beside one of the best tobogganing runs in the area (that could use a bit more clearing... my girls love the run from the clearing at the top of the hill, past the white pine throne, into the field).

Kudos to the @NCC_CCN arborist that took the time to give new life to something lost. It’s little things like this that make ordinary public spaces exceptional. (I hope I haven’t caused someone working within a bureaucratic beast to get censured for working inefficiently.)
