@LegionzGaming What's depressing is the dialogue is terrible. Why did they write it to sound like Forespoken? It doesn't fit with the rest of the GoW games. I'll play it regardless because I like the world, but I'll set it to a language other than English to avoid the cringe.

I hate woke shit in video games, but The new God of War is not Woke at all lol. These people are just seeking attention I feel like, it genuinely looks really good and I wanted more lore about her and the Giants. Seeing so many people call it woke just make me feel like these people have lost the plot. They see a woman or a black person and they just immediately yell WOKE even when the term doesn't apply to it at all lol. Dragon Age Vielguard was WOKE AF, this new God of War is not that at all lol.

@Nerdrotics @drkstar76 It's also morning Japan time. Enjoy being up until 3 am and sleeping until 11 am the next few weeks. It's a lot harder to adjust your body's time clock going from Japan to the US than it is going there.

@nuhre_ The dialogue was not great. They sounded like modern people from LA not ancient gods. I have no idea why they'd decide to write the script like that.

I already know people are gonna have a million opinions about the new God of War: Laufey. “It’s called GOD of War, not GODDESS of War!” and all the usual barking at air for engagement. But I’m genuinely shocked by how different this game feels from the older ones, and I mean that in the best way possible. Faye feels agile where Kratos always felt heavy and brutal. I love the mix of magic and melee combat. It genuinely feels like what playing an Arcane Warrior in Dragon Age looked like in my head as a kid. I also love how much more colorful the world is. Kratos’ games were muted and cold to reflect his grief and sorrow, while this one feels vibrant, mystical, and alive. And the merging of new pantheons into the mix? Oh, I’m SAT. The designs for the rakshasa and Sekhmet were sick as hell, and I genuinely can’t wait to see more. Buddhist and Egyptian mythology go unbelievably hard.

Why are people defending high prices? Lmao I don't understand this. I know this guy is just joking but I've seen so many people defend $70 games that have less the 20 hours, all you're gonna do is make it so games with more playtime, will be even more expensive...

@yah2xs It's not that you can't play the game. It's that you can't finish it. I've started RDR2 multiple times. I'll get a ways in then be unable to play for a month because of work. When I go back to it, I've forgotten a bunch of stuff. Give me a game I can finish in two weekends.

@Vito_Space @WajahatAli Unfortunately, they can't do much at this point. Carrie Fisher is gone, and Mark Hamill and especially Harrison Ford are getting too old to do much. Maybe they could have Mara Jade show up with Luke's kid and say she was hiding somewhere?

The reason why DISNEY screwed up Star Wars and Marvel isn't due to this nonsense anti "woke" bullshit promoted by bad faith right-wing grifters. If that were the case, ANDOR and Black Panther would've flopped. DISNEY, like most soulless, greedy corporations, decided to take its audience for granted, pump out inferior projects to inflate Disney+, invest in quantity over quality, and arrogantly assumed people would simply line up for diminishing returns. Like nearly every establishment in America, it has lost the public's faith. The majority, especially the youth, have moved on. Good. I hope this shakes it all up and we get back to some renegade, bold filmmaking and ideas as we had in the 70s.

@Mangalawyer TheGamer wrote articles. Well, that's all you need to know. If those "game journalists" praise a game and give it nines and tens, there's a very high chance the game is not worth playing.

007 First Light has 9 out of 10 characters built like a flat board. An Indian M who is exceptional at everything. Bond gets rescued by a girlboss at the end of the game (look at her face in the cinematic and then at how she reacts after rescuing the supposedly greatest spy in the world) There is one genuinely attractive character who appears in a swimsuit for about 5 seconds, not even underwear, and people claim this is the pinnacle of mature rated gaming while simping for Amazon of all companies. You deserve to consume $150 cinematic slop forever.

It's literally a question taken from an IQ test that was designed by experts to measure pattern recognition in people. Yes, if this was a math test you'd be right to break out the white board to start drawing up an equation. You might even be justified in putting I don't know as an answer. But it's not a math test. It's a pattern recognition question taken from an IQ test. So I go back to my original point that it's a mark against you for not taking the context of the question into account when answering.

@ChrisTheAlt @Devon_Eriksen_ Yes, I know. This is why this question is not an IQ test. What are you even on about right now? Me: "This question does not measure IQ." You: "No! That's not how IQ tests work. IQ tests are multiple questions over a time limit and not just one question like this one!"

Devon Eriksen@Devon_Eriksen_·
This is why IQ tests don't work too well on really smart people. Because sorta smart people tend to give the expected answer. And really smart people tend to point out that the question is wrong, and start arguing with the test, or trying to correct it, thereby making the test impossible to grade and annoying everyone. The expected answer to this is 72. Because 2*2*2 = 8 and 5*5*2 = 50, so 6*6*2 = 72. But the (really) correct answer is "I don't know." Because what you have is two points on a 3 dimensional graph (x,y) -> z. z = 2*x*y is one surface that can be drawn through these two points. And I suspect it's the simplest formula for a surface that can be so drawn, although I haven't bothered to check. But an infinite number of contiguous surfaces can be drawn in three dimensions that encompass these points (2,2,8) and (5,5,50). Each of these surfaces can be described by its own formula. Some of them will also touch (6,6,72). But others of them will touch (6,6, {something else entirely}) instead. This might sound really, really pedantic. But it's not. Everyone knows that the expected answer is the simple one, but that's only on a test... a fake artificial made up problem. When we start trying to do this in the real world, which, after all is what this "IQ" thing is actually for, then using the same kind of "IQ test thinking" can get you in trouble. "My 3-month-old son is now TWICE as big as when he was born. He's on track to weigh 7.5 trillion pounds by age 10." -@pronounced_kyle Fitting the simplest-formula curve, as opposed to the correct curve, makes our predictions of real-world stuff dead wrong. So this kind of test question promotes a dangerous habit of thought. But, Devon, I hear some of you ask, doesn't the principle of Occam's Razor demand that we fit the simplest curve? No. No, it does not. It does not require that we select the simplest possible answer, given what we have currently seen. It requires that we prefer hypotheses that make fewer assumption to those that make more. These are two different things entirely. If I see one black sheep, the simplest hypothesis is that all sheep are black. The hypothesis requiring the fewest assumptions is that at least one sheep is black on at least one side. You will note which of these is correct. All of this is, of course, irrelevant to questions on IQ test. But questions on an IQ test only matter as much as they are relevant to the actual universe... Where ideas like this are very relevant indeed.

No, that's not how IQ tests work. It's a series of questions you have to answer within a set time limit that averages out to a minute per question generally. This meme originally claimed to be a hard IQ test question. I'm not sure why your alpha lone wolf independent thinker self is struggling so much with something so basic.

Sorry did you think this was an IQ test? Like a real one? You think if you answered in less than a minute you are the galaxy brain gigachad?. It's a silly internet meme. One that can be used for multiple purposes, none of which can accurately assess IQ. For many, thinking about the question on a deeper level is fun and fulfilling.

@trequor_ @Devon_Eriksen_ No, it's an IQ test. It's meant to measure specific aspects of intelligence, one of which is pattern recognition. You answer the questions with that context in mind, or don't take an IQ test. It is not the place to stroke your alpha lone wolf independent thinker ego.

@ChrisTheAlt @Devon_Eriksen_ See you're thinking one dimensionally. You assume the purpose of the question is to do whatever it says and that the ideal outcome is to get good boy points for jumping to the conclusion the test makers asked you to. This has a lot more to do with personality than intelligence

"Take that Yorch! First Light sold 1.5 million bajillion copies!" Here's some Math to illustrate your desperation to 'own' me: The game had an alleged budget of $200 million, not including marketing costs. Consider the 30% cut Steam takes plus Sony and Microsoft's share. At $70 a copy it has generated $105,000,000 in revenue. Subtract in all those paid reviews, and yes, also those keys given away for 'free'. This game is not a hit as it struggles to stay in Steam's concurrent list. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
