If a person earning £100,000 a year does a day's overtime, how much do they get to spend on stuff? It'll shock you. There are 260 or so working days in a year, and so £100k p.a. equates to £384.62 a day. They then pay - £230.77 in income tax - £7.69 in NICs – £24.36 in VAT. They can buy something worth £122.80. If someone on £100,000 knows their extra day's work will only net them £120, they are likely to do something else instead. A tax system built like this does not promote growth.

@Nick_Wilson3 @No1FarmerJake Its serious when a leading farm management company, one you would assume runs a very lean operation, issues this forecast and ceases 20% of its CFAs.
