@bleating_lamb …blanket solution, which we know it isn’t, but it is the clarion call after any flood event. I obviously sympathise with your problems, we suffered a huge flood in 2019 so I know first hand how difficult it is to deal with. As for the ‘welcome’, I used a gif from a comedy…

Bitter, perhaps furious, possibly mad for bothering to reply, but when the financial losses from Environment Agency failings force you to walk away from a farm you’ve farmed for 50 years because they don’t repair lock gates, or maintain outfalls, as well as leaving the flushing gates broken for twenty years, and where it takes 4 years to get a job sheet raised to clear silt from blocking an outfall, you have a different perspective to other people. It took 3 weeks to get an emergency dispensation from Natural England to access the foreshore with excavators due to the ground nesting wetland birds - it was December, nothing was breeding…! Now I appreciate this is only one of nearly 7000 sites under management, but why should we be sympathetic about cutbacks or “improvised” strategies devised to support the funding shortfalls. If all 7000 are this badly managed there’s a national scandal taking place in plain sight. Nothing is winning here, since 1997 all these failings have wiped out almost all the ground dwelling wildlife in this area along the Humber over 10 times where every water channel was historically engineered by our local forebears. As an EFG member & Nature Friendly Farmer who has lived and worked in this landscape, I have experience how coexistence works. Even on the Wolds we know about slowing the flow but estuarial & fen farmers & communities need engineering works because you can’t fit a pint in a quart pot. Even slubbing out used to protect the dyke walls which now collapse from wildlife damage. So if a machine that keeps a 50 mile shipping lane open to 50,000 tonners emphasises that some engineering management is always required, is it okay to eventually criticise something like the Afsluitdijk. I’m happy to invite anyone to stand in my shoes, as long as they don’t mind sporadic periods of getting their feet wet. Good luck with your cluster, I hope it’s a more welcoming place.

@bleating_lamb That’s about maintaining a shipping channel The solution is missed by the very slow flow No comparison with a British river away from the coast

Fraud "swaps" (IRHP) forced on and designed to bankrupt SMEs/individuals in UK/Ireland to bail out bank balance sheets is the biggest of all financial scandals I have ever seen. Which says a lot considering my history. 😡😡😡

This should make people’s blood boil and the Board of Lloyds Bank should be forced to fall on their swords for the sustained injustice carried out on their behalf by various parties. This is why we need a judge led public inquiry now to bring this truth out into the open.
Artur Nadolny@ArturNadol7566

HE DIED BEGGING AN INSOLVENCY FIRM NOT TO BANKRUPT HIS FAMILY. THEY David Morgan was a multi-millionaire businessman. Then his HBOS bank manager, Lynden Scourfield, blackmailed him in 2005. Comply with corrupt demands, or we'll destroy your business. The Morgan family said no. What followed was 20 years of institutional destruction. Scourfield, who was later convicted and jailed, forced the family to re-bank. Their borrowing costs jumped from 2% to 30% overnight. David was simultaneously fighting cancer, missing hospital appointments because Scourfield kept summoning him under threat. In 2009, @LloydsBank Director Mark Medd admitted the bank knew about Scourfield's mess. He promised to investigate. Nothing happened. Instead, insolvency firm Begbies Traynor arrived and spent the next decade pursuing the family through the courts over a debt they had already settled. David Morgan was dying of cancer in November 2013 when he begged them to stop. They refused. He died in April 2014. Begbies partner Paul Stanley filed a public report days later calling the bankruptcies a "win," despite recovering nothing for creditors. @LloydsBank set aside £790 million for HBOS fraud victims. Sir David Foskett promised full restitution. His widow Jane has been in the compensation scheme for five years. She has received zero. Now Begbies Traynor's Paul Barber is taking Jane to court to force a £3 million payout she has never seen, so Begbies can take their fees from it first. @TheFCA has watched every step of this and done nothing. Sir David Foskett promised to meet any victim who requested it. He has refused Jane Morgan six times. Sources: Reuters, CPS conviction record, Foskett Panel statements and others. @stevemiddi1 @MLorrM @TransparencyTF @nw_nicholas

@AndyBurnhamGM @DailyMail Peruse any regional Farm-watch WhatsApp group and you will see the scale of flytipping, carried out without the landowners' knowledge, and the clean up, invariably being made at their own expense. Metropolitan blindness is seemingly alive and well in Manchester.

Thank you to the @DailyMail for their help with my campaign. 🙏🏻 Yes I do think we should tax landowners who allow their land to be turned into illegal waste dumps, like Bickershaw. 👍🏻

@bleating_lamb There already is a packaging tax levy of £228.82 per metric tonne, my son manages a label printing factory and they get hit with this tax as the weight of Abels printed is non recycled, but the waste they throw out is exempt but costs more due to landfill tax rates
