Charlie McAvoy had every right to be furious. Ridiculous play by Zach Benson at any time, but especially given the circumstances when it happened.

McAvoy really complained all season about being hit dirty and in his final shift, a soft ass slewfoot that happens quite often by accident makes him fall and he decides to full on try to hit a home run with Benson's body as the ball.
Good luck getting any sympathy now.

I truly don’t understand why people aren’t also equally appalled at Benson’s slewfoot.
Yes, the stick slash is way more dangerous and far more violent and cannot happen. He will be suspended likely for 3-5 games.
Benson slew-footed him up 4-1 in the final 2 minutes of a series-ending win, on a clear icing after Benson lost the race.
McAvoy is 100% wrong for the slash, put blatantly ignoring context seems foolish to me.
