@thevicarswife At one church there’s a pedestal updated seasonally (usually fake flowers, except Easter). At my other two, a weekly supermarket bouquet goes in a vase. I think the bouquet in a vase model is the future... it’s far easier for people to commit to than an “arranging” rota.

Doing some research for General Synod: Does your church have any volunteer flower arrangers? If you do, please comment about how often you have flower arrangements. We have no flower arrangers, and I suspect that this is an increasing phenomenon.

Today I honour St Basil and St Gregory of Nazianzus—pillars of Trinitarian theology. Their reflections on the mystery of the Trinity shaped the Church’s understanding of God as unity in diversity. They are significant figures as I prepare for my PhD… I also became a dad. 🤣

Honourable 2024 mentions go to the new job, new house, old/new housemate combination, to my Mum's wedding and getting to see Taylor Swift at Wembley! Here's to hoping for slightly more smooth sailing and just as much adventure in 2025! Let's go!

Thankful for 14 years in Christ, for the gifts of baptism and Christ's Church and for the enduring joy of following Jesus. 12 yr old Emma would be baffled/ ecstatic to be a priest 14yrs later but baffled/disappointed my handwriting hasn't improved in that time!

A day of joy! First Easter as a priest and the sixth anniversary of my Confirmation... Both gifts from God because of the empty tomb, and the reality of Jesus' resurrection life! Thankful that following the Risen Christ has led me here...

Grateful for priesthood, for our shared life in the CofE, and for being four years younger than the anniversary of women priests in the CofE! 'He is your praise; he is your God who has done for you these great and awesome things that your own eyes have seen.' Deu 10:21

Can confirm celebrating Holy Communion on Christmas Day for the first time is worth all the hype!! Lord Jesus, accept our heartfelt praise as we worship you, our Saviour and our eternal God.

This is wonderful news for God's Church! When I was training, @michael_volland gave himself as as prayerfully to 7:30am BCP Communion on a Wednesday with a congregation of 2-5 of us as he did to anything else This is one small but important reason he'll make a cracking bishop!
