People have no idea what's coming with the next generation of kids who are AI native. My youngest teen just started an internship. On the first day he was given a "challenging" two weeks worth of work with very specific objectives, timelines, etc. By 10am the next morning he was done the entire list and asking for more work. They didn't think he could possibly be done. How? He used AI to help (with their permission). And he KNOW how to use AI (he's not using it like a google search bar). These AI native kids are gonna run laps around 25-40 year olds that are not using AI.

@ParasVerma7454 That's true, but in one of my last interviews they wanted a 7 days-project, I investigated, use AI etc. The project was rejected because the interviewer didn't understand the codebase, they wanted notebooks 🤡 then it's also bullsheet that way

I hate technical rounds 😭 What do you mean I’m expected to write code completely on my own, from memory, under pressure, while someone watches me, without Google, without Stack Overflow, without docs, and somehow remember the exact syntax for everything? In real life, no one codes like that. Half of software engineering is knowing what to search for, reading documentation, and figuring things out as you go. But in a technical round, apparently I’m supposed to become a human compiler and instantly recall every method, edge case, and framework API I’ve ever touched. You’re testing my coding skills, my memory, my stress tolerance, and my ability to pretend I’ve never opened a browser, all at the same time 😭

I actually think the opposite. A college education - or something equivalent - gives you a well-defined, comprehensive corpus of knowledge and critical thinking skills that you can apply anywhere, including in AI. That doesn't mean a traditional college will remain the best place to accomplish these skills, but we need to let go of this foolish belief that AI is going to suddenly make slow, deep thinking and long-term learning of the basics unnecessary.
