🚨New train!🚨 There's now a 19:52 from Brussels to London arriving at 20:57. Runs every day except Saturdays and fills the previous 2 hour gap. #TrainsNotPlanes

Hey @AddisonLeeCabs rather than sending me emails like this saying “we got you covered”, how about not leaving me in the lurch the last time I did exactly what your email proposes? Ironically, you did exactly what your email suggests you’re there to help avoid. 😡

The Krapfen as sold was incredibly sweet. Delicious, but the kind of thing you wouldn’t want more than one of. But the Butterkäse added something amazing, worked wonderfully & I’m tempted to have another. Win!🏆 Proving, once again, that cheese always makes things better! (7/7)

Time then to try both with and without cheese. One half of the Krapfen as delivered by the baker (L) the other with a slice of Butterkäse inserted into it (R). And the verdict was… (6/7)

I recently tweeted about a Krapfen (donut) my local bakery would be making to celebrate the Feast of St Nicholas. Thats today, so time to try it out & to test @40PercentGerman’s suggestion that it might go well with cheese. A thread 🧵 (1/7)

There I was @40PercentGerman, thinking I’d have at least until January before the Krapfenfest begins. Lo and behold the unwritten but ever-respected ‘any excuse to make a Krapfen’ rule kicks in. It’s not like bakeries need tempting treats to lure us in, in December!

@40PercentGerman I feel @40PercentGerman that I should find out. Trying to decide what cheese to go for given the amount of sugar in the Krapfen. Maybe I go strong to counterbalance? Any thoughts? Will record the event…

Can't see a problem with Christma Krapfen...Can you put cheese on it though?

Germany and the US have weaved nations out of many strands. But balancing freedom and unity is never without friction. 'E Pluribus Unum' - 'Out of many, one' is easier said than done 🇺🇸🇩🇪 The third and last part of my American adventure in ZEITGEIST 👇 katjahoyer.uk/p/out-of-many-…

I’m a DB realist (nice trains, appalling reliability), but one thing British railways should learn from is their principle that if you will be 20mins+ late, all ticket restrictions are lifted. Don’t tell people they have to take the train behind. Let them take the train in front.

@EurostarJustinp To be fair, most of the time I’ve ever gone that way it’s been on time. But they’re far less memorable than the times it wasn’t!

Today in Trainland: Tour group gets off in Lille and accidentally takes a random passenger's suitcase. They realise mistake. Lille station ring me. It'll be put on next train. She's travelling on to Germany and her train leaves Brussels before the next eurostar arrives...

And that Deutsche BA was integrated into Air Berlin before it too went into administration. So now I'm wondering whatever / whoever German Airways is, why is it ripping off the livery of British Airways in a Lidl/Aldi brand copying sort of way?

When I last flew into Germany, I noticed an aircraft marked as "German Airways" (in English) I thought it was a new name for Deutsche BA, cos the German Airways logo was almost the same as the British Airways ribbon After googling, I found Deutsche BA hasn't existed for 10+ yrs

@rhodri Top tip: don’t ever try to solve that problem by putting it in the dishwasher. It’s like gremlins in a swimming pool…
