Boromir in The Lord of the Rings (2001) falls to the Ring out of desperation to save his people, then redeems himself moments later by dying to protect Merry & Pippin. Sean Bean gave the character far more humanity than a lesser adaptation would’ve.

In 2022, I ran for Congress in a majority-white district. In a crowded Republican primary, I was the only black candidate, and I won outright without a runoff.
Why?
Because Americans are capable of choosing the BEST candidate regardless of race.
As evidenced by your post, just like much of your party, you seem to believe black Americans are politically monolithic.
We’re NOT.
Not every person of color shares your worldview, your policies, or your values.
The recidivism we should actually be avoiding is sliding backward into a system where Americans are once again divided and categorized by race.
That is EXACTLY what racial gerrymandering represents:
Segregating people politically based on skin color while pretending it is moral progress.
It’s bigotry cloaked in false moral outrage, and the American people can see it plainly.

Here’s my honest assessment:
Generation of kids raised by no fathers. Those kids have no respect for authority or anyone else. At least the grandparents are able to show them a few things.
It turns into another generation of kids raised by even less fathers and no grandparents. Those kids don’t respect anything.
These takeovers are being done by kids who think it’s funny to destroy things. They think it’s hysterical to ruin the public’s night. They’re not worried about consequences or anything else because it was never taught to them. They truly are feral.
Combined with soft on crime leftist policies, these kids tear things up and look forward to doing it again.
The solution? Start locking up the parents, too. Vote judges in who give out maximum penalties. Vote in mayors and sheriffs who will focus less on “rehabilitation” in jail and make it “hard time” again. Show these kids there will be consequences. Make jail so unattractive it makes them think twice before they do something like this.
It has to be stopped now or else the next generation will be even worse.

The death penalty could absolutely save money and be a strong deterrent if the penalty was carried out shortly after conviction instead of keeping them on death row for decades while they file endless appeals. Executing someone is cheap and obviously more cost efficient than providing them meals and housing for their entire life. All you’re doing here is making an argument for carrying out the death penalty more quickly and efficiently. And I agree.
You also aren’t addressing the number one reason for the death penalty, which has nothing to do with cost or even deterrence. The primary reason is justice. Justice is giving to a person what they are due. A man who brutally murders a young girl is due the ultimate penalty. We should execute child killers because execution is the most proper and right and just response to such a crime.
Keeping such a person alive and forcing society to feed and house and clothe them until their natural death is unjust, improper. He deserves to die. Even you admit this. And so he should. It’s really that simple.

The question is not whether he deserves execution (he does), but whether we should execute him (we shouldn't). In the USA, executing people does not reduce crime, protect people (at least if incarcerated in more protective prisons), or save money compared to long term imprisonment. Executing people hardens us as a society to others. All systems of capital punishment there are systems to protect the executioner from the deed, showing the recognition of how such acts are bad for them as human beings, even when they agree in principle it's moral. In the US, the evidence & ethics are against having any executions.
