I find the left natalism position baffling. Money is not the reason people don’t have more kids: consistently, across cultures and economic systems, people with more money have fewer kids. The world’s most generous welfare states have low birthrates. Most people want 2 kids *max*

Last night at bedtime my 5-year old asked me for a "talking book."
"What's that?" I asked.
"It's when you tell a story, but you just talk. No book."
Ah, he wanted me to make up a story, or tell one from memory.
But from now on I will call myself, "The Talking Book."

It’s not something you can plan for much. Same with tomorrow. Not sure why people think life has some predictable trajectory. Everyone’s gonna die though.
