One dynamic everyone should understand: Many “leaders” put hatred of RFK and President Trump over children’s health. This hatred leads pundits like Jerome Adams to troll about someone’s dead mother. The focus at HHS is that many Americans, including my mother, die of disease that are preventable. We think it’s a big deal that hospitals, schools and military serve inflammatory food. We think it’s a big deal that we spend three times more than any other country for healthcare but have worse outcomes. We think a lot of this has to do with the healthcare system systemically not appreciating the underlying root causes of disease. A great example of that is in the food hospitals serve patients who are suffering from chronic disease. My mom’s “dying wish” wasn’t to have a Coke. The takeaway I had after her death is that it says a lot about our system that obese and diabetic patient are served inflammatory food at scale in hospitals. The Trump admin is executing common sense actions every day to reverse these incentives. This is fueled by a deep concern for children’s health - which is at shameful levels right now. Just last year, whole food purchases went up ~8% - that will have a profound public health impact. Schools, military bases, prisons, and hospitals will serve better food. Food companies, who have played by the rules and we hope thrive, are acknowledging there is a problem and making changes. This is a big deal. Through a mix of Trump hatred and personal incentives, an army of foot soldiers like Jerome are doing whatever they possibly can to defend the status quo and convince Americans it’s acceptable.

Most agree we need to promote better nutrition + physical fitness. Yet the prioritization and framing undermines the message. Your loved one is dying of cancer and your focus as a lead HHS policy advisor- is on denying her a last coke? When so many Americans lack access to cancer treatment & pain management, and/or face bankruptcy because of it? No wonder he’s getting cooked in the comments. 🤷🏽‍♂️ 🤯

This week, the Trump admin took the strongest action in history against microplastics, ensured pastries will be replaced with eggs in school breakfasts, ensured hospitals serve healthier food, and pressured Reese’s Cups to go back to using real chocolate instead of chemicals. Don’t let the media gaslight you about MAHA.

@ZacharyLevi And most important of what you said; not getting desensitized to each other as humans .. the arts being a big part of it.

Oh, Richie, don’t get me wrong. This isn’t a judgement of Val, his family, or even necessarily these filmmakers. This is me highlighting where we are all collectively heading within the arts, and beyond. I’ve been talking about how this very thing would start to happen, and that it’s a very slippery slope. Once audiences start to become desensitized to fully AI performances, then real actors are meaningless. And while I am clearly biased on the subject, I believe this is bad for all of us. The arts are one of the very few things that keep us connected to our humanity. Our souls. Each other. They are, at their most central core, expressions of what it means to be, well, us. We are on the brink of massive disruption of employment in all sectors. And we must be very cognizant of how we take care of people as entire industries are taken over by AI and robotics. But we must endeavor to protect the arts and the sciences, our deep purpose to create and discover, if we are to hold onto any remnant of our humanity. 🙏

Remember The Fallen

For most of my adult life, I was somewhat manic. Couldn’t relax or find time to just enjoy the simple things. Like a walk in woods. My dogs taught me how to live a better life. They saved me. Won’t ever try to talk anyone into taking on the immense responsibility of pet parenthood, but if you’re ready and looking for inner peace, these precious angels may be the answer…

If President Trump fixes the economy, closes the border, deports the illegals, secures the Western hemisphere, outlaws “woke,” routs China, AND successfully restores the Shah of Iran, I may demand the repeal of the 22nd Amendment.

Regardless of who sits in the Oval Office, I’ll stand with the parents of a murdered child. I’ll stand on the idea that protecting American citizens comes first. I’ll stand for our athletes who wore our flag and brought home gold. I’ll stand against medicalizing kids without parental consent. These aren’t “policy positions.” They’re baseline human values. If your entire political identity is just resist at all costs, even when what you’re resisting is the lowest-hanging fruit for common ground - it betrays your true incentives: power over people. The American people deserve better.

NYC's annual budget is twice Tokyo's, and Tokyo's quality of life is about 100 times better than NYC. Tokyo has twice the people. NYC's budget is $120b per year, GREECE spends $85 billion per year and they have A FUCKING ARMY AND A NAVY.

This statement is factually inaccurate. The segment was about how the FDA does NOT have a science and risk-based evaluation of ingredients. The FDA doesn’t know what chemicals are in our food and doesn’t conduct safety testing for chemicals the industry identifies as GRAS.
60 Minutes@60Minutes

The Consumer Brands Association says the GRAS process enables companies to “innovate to meet consumer demand” and that “food companies adhere to FDA’s science and risk-based evaluation of ingredients… Before and after they are in the marketplace.” The Consumer Brands Association also tells 60 Minutes there is no “agreed upon scientific definition of ultraprocessed foods."
