@Chrixiam98 I think Niftsky wasn't focused on the rule change itself, but how it was brought up in bad faith with ulterior motives, plus the votes/discussions around it were rigged. That wasn't the case for hobbit or I would have been a lot more upset (unless you have something to tell me)

It'd be hypocritical of me to completely side with Niftski in the recent SMB1 situation. As much as I understand his frustration, I have definitely been the speedrun moderator who changes his mind about whether something should be allowed AFTER someone gets a new WR with it (1/3)

(3/3) and as much as I'd like to ideally move on and never talk about it again, situations like Niftski's definitely remind me that I've been on both ends of this. I don't think the mods are right here, but I also can't pretend I've always been any better.

It doesn't get addressed a lot, but there was a certain trick in Hobbit speedruns that I only vouched for the banning of in NMG *after* MK got a new WR using it (despite also being the one to teach it to him). Obviously that's something that was not fair of me (2/3)

@PB_Speedruns It's a lot more nuanced than that. People with large followings have a lot more people reaching out to them on a regular basis, and it simply isn't practical to be able to respond to everyone.

I swear it feels like Popular or big content creators are selfish and don't care about anyone but people of the same size in Popularity. They never respond to people with small followings even if it's just a simple message of questions.

Better animation, higher-quality audio, prettier set designs - these all cost money

The real kicker, though: It was one of those AI-generated "heartwarming story" videos. I found it and showed it to her and she said "That's the one!"
The fact that YouTube has gotten to this state, where you can get a fake ad before the ACTUAL ad you're trying to watch...

Had an elderly woman come in to the theater to see Scream 7, who thought the movie was about a homeless veteran struggling on the street.
Turns out when she clicked the trailer on YouTube, it fed her an ad before the trailer.
