@ChroniclesHound No not rude. Tone and inflection are lost in text. Sadly we jave so much communication that way now a days. We lose the meaning of things with out the body language, tone, inflection not only of words but posture. No offense taken. It was just a friendly banter post.

I truly don't care when and if she read the DMG and won't give her crap for it either way. I just want to point out that a LOT of 5e players vilified older gamers so f*cking much when they suggested reading the rules, but are now cheering for this video. Ok. I see you.

Ever heard of the #DnD City That Never Was? Wanna see it? In 2002 Jeff Easley was commissioned for a D&D 3.5E campaign setting that was to tie in with the Book of Vile Darkness, but was never published. It’s name? “City Of Sin” I love the tavern, ‘Ye Ruptured Spleen’.

'Why Shadowdark instead of other deserving games?' I dunno, there will always be a top dog, for whatever reason. I've seen people that do similar stuff to me be more successful than me. I saw a guy kickstart a 30 page pdf adding guns to 5e once, and make 6 times more money than my 200 page project. No point worrying about it. Just focus on your own stuff.

Even though I think it holds a quirky charm, I would say different skills/actions using different rules. (Chance-in-6 for this, but % for that...)

Years back, I had drinks with a larger RPG YouTuber. They confided they didn't even like 5e, but that's where the clicks were, so they focused on 5e content. I get it, but found it sad to be so close to a dream job in your hobby but having to fake it. I talk about the RPGs I love
