4/It hit me right in the heart as a parent, as your Mayor and as a kid who grew up with my mom raising us on her own and making all sorts of sacrifices. A reminder of what’s important and how the small things can sometimes make the biggest difference.

We debuted our pothole blitz last year to tremendous response from our residents & have seen other cities adopt our approach! We’re back at it this year and will repair every pothole in Port Coquitlam in two days!

One of the students I support as a Learning Support teacher for two blocks a day was only available for a few minutes. So we had a plank (push up position) contest. He is a very athletic grade 7. I put "Industry Baby" on and we both lasted for 2 minutes and 13 seconds. Ooof!

Our hearts are heavy tonight after hearing about the tragic loss of Constable Rick O’Brien. We had the privilege of working with Rick in the district and he will be deeply missed by our staff and students. Constable O’Brien had a wonderful sense of humour and an amazing ability to build connections with students. He was committed to the work because he cared about the kids, who felt seen and heard by him. We trusted Rick with the hearts of our students, knowing he always took care of our families and always had their best interests at heart.

This teacher actually found a way to teach teamwork to his sports team. Not a novel idea; but, it definitely worked here, and changed the way of thinking for so many of his students. He will be missed. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of former EHS Operations paramedic, Angela Ingraham. Angela grew up in a family of paramedics and would never hesitate to help others in any way she could.
