@CallVoter @elonmusk @billieeilishtrs If she follows through on her promise, she's spending a fifth of her net worth on charity.
English

@elonmusk @billieeilishtrs And she's not poor by any means. I wonder how much she spent her own money on solving world hunger or rebuilding Gaza?
English

@Kristennetten @elonmusk @billieeilishtrs Agreed. What does good stewardship look like?
Can you share where you got the 7 Trillion figure? The federal government spent $6.8 trillion in 2024 and that includes military, infrastructure, etc... it's not all hand outs and entitlement programs.
English

Few understand. As the gist earlier — Governments spend far more and it does hardly anything to touch World poverty & mismanagement issues etc to the extent people expect. The U.S. alone spent 7 trillion in 2025. Handing more money out isn’t the answer to everything nor would it end World hunger. Proper solutions require good stewardship not freebies.
English

@elonmusk @billieeilishtrs How much of her wealth has she contributed to these noble endeavors?

@NaturesEpyon @elonmusk @billieeilishtrs How are tax deductions on charitable giving a profitable transaction?
I have never ended up with more money in my pocket after sending money to the Humane Society.

She donated to a charity that makes her own music tours more "eco friendly". She essentially donated to her own catering service. (No single use plastics and vegan food). It's incredibly pretentious.
And she gets to write off the charitable donation on taxes. Which every wealthy person does, but they don't go around bragging about their charitable donations because they know it's just a part of doing taxes efficiently.
If she really wanted to make a statement she would donate or giveaway money to people and places that arent tax deductible. (Very few actually do that).
Don't even get me started on the financial structure of most charities. 10% of most donations actually go to where you'd want it to go.
Also when it comes to "billionaires" not all their wealth is liquid, its caught up in unrealized gains, investments, assets etc. (As with most billionaires). There can be a massive detrimental effect upon liquidation. Especially if they have companies which are publicly traded.
Beyond all that, expanding human consciousness to the cosmos, so one day it can exist after Earth is unable to support life, is one of the best things we can do for humanity. No one else but you is working meaningful towards this. If you arent doing it, literally no one else is.
Earth has enough people that everyone can decide how their going to help humanity. It doesnt all need to be hive mind focused on a single goal. It should be multifaceted and working on many things at once. And hopefully breakthroughs in different fields benefiting others.
Your money is better off in your hands, everyone else just seems to meaninglessly squander it.
This is on top of making the internet widely available to rural locations with Starlink, and renewable energy vehicles.
It's very easy to tell other people how to spend their money. And its annoying.
English

@MiaVerityRose @elonmusk @billieeilishtrs She DID. Read the source story. She's donating a fifth of her money to charity and called on others to do the same.
You're right, though, she probably doesn't understand the economy any better than you do.
English

@elonmusk @billieeilishtrs She doesn't comprehend finance and economy...but if she thinks she does why doesn't she go and give away her millions and give a shining example how to do it by becoming Mother Teresa or something?

As a father, I get it. But as someone who wants people to believe in public service again, it’s a setback.

President Biden’s decision put personal interest ahead of duty and further erodes Americans’ faith that the justice system is fair and equal for all.
