Spare a thought for our friends in Mozambique. Cyclone Gezani has wreaked havoc and Tofo was particularly hard hit. @bitcointofo does not currently have electricity or internet access, but, with assistance from @BitcoinFamba they've set up a channel for donations through a local coconut-oil producing factory near Tofo. The BoaGente factory was recently on-boarded to accept Bitcoin as payment, they have generators and therefore back-up power. primal.net/e/nevent1qqsdx… The factory workers are all Tofo residents and while no-one wants to see disaster hit, this may be an opportunity to see the power of building Bitcoin Circular Economies in action! Important meeting today with the civil engineer and architect, one step closer toward realizing the new Ekasi Center. But when it comes to dealing with government, the name of the game is patience. We're making progress, but it's taking longer than we had hoped. Frustrating, but no surprises there. The latest is there's a good chance our proposal will be tabled at the next council meeting, 27 March 2025. Today's meeting was to make adjustments and preparations for final submission of supporting documents, for the council's consideration. The Executive Mayor of Mossel Bay, Dirk Kotzé, made his first #Bitcoin transaction yesterday. We didn't just build a skate bowl. We built a reason for anyone (and everyone) from the surrounding community, South Africa, and wherever else to ask (and learn) "Why #Bitcoin?"

Learning about #Bitcoin was an eye-opener for me. There are two distinct periods of my life, one before Bitcoin and one after Bitcoin. I see things completely differently today. Who can relate? 🙌 #Team

If you like the idea of #Bitcoin    but you're not a fan of the price volatility, you could just wait to buy until after it's fully monetized, when it's ~ 10 Million per coin. It should be pretty stable by that point.

We've been working on something super cool! It's been a long time coming, as it involved a lot of preparation and training, but we finally have the skills and some early prototypes. We're building handcrafted mini-surfboards at @the_surfer_kids HQ at Diaz Beach, using old surfboards that would otherwise have to be discarded. Of course, these unique works of art will be sold exclusively for #Bitcoin It's an upcycling project with the idea to generate income and create additional (sustainable) jobs with salaries paid in sats! Stay tuned for more updates on when and where these will be available.
