3/3 As part of CTiH 'Hackney Lent Reflection', some questions are posed for further reflection and discussion, with some suggested prayers, and a reading from Matthew 25: 31-46. 'Lord, show us where to begin; set us on the way of love revealed by Your Cross ...'

2/3 We asked Councillor Carole Williams, Cabinet member for Employment, Human Resources and Equalities, at Hackney Council, to tell us about how Hackney has recently become an official ‘Council of Sanctuary’ and what that might mean for us as churches and Christians.

This afternoon I set out on pilgrimage from @StPaulsLondon with fellow pilgrims and a wonderful send-off. We walked via Southwark Cathedral and will end the day with Evening Prayer at St Alphege in Greenwich. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin the journey to Canterbury.

“We're all called to represent Christ in the networks of our daily life and we are called to build bridges. It is what St. William of York did. It is why he is worth remembering. It is what we must do too.” Here’s my sermon in full, given during a special commemorative service for St William of York. archbishopofyork.org/sermon-800th-a…

Thy Kingdom Come
Thy Kingdom Come@thykingdom_come·
As we continue exploring the 10 new daily prayer ideas for Thy Kingdom Come 2026, today’s invitation is to write down the first name of each of the five people you are praying for, then use the letters of their name to guide your prayers. Alongside each letter write down what you desire the Lord to do in their lives. Here is an example for the name Jean: 🟡 J – JUST to hear that you love her Lord 🟡 E – ENVELOP her in a sense of your presence 🟡 A – Let her be AWARE of her need of you 🟡 N – Be NEAR to her Lord Allow each letter to become a prayer as you lift them into God’s hands. 🤲

We welcomed Archbishop Sarah, Archbishop Richard and Bishop Hovakim to their first meeting of the @ChurchesEngland Presidents today. They shared the issues that they are focused on, in particular, the war in the Middle East and working towards unity and overcoming divisiveness in our own nation. Day two of the pilgrimage. Reflection at Lesnes Abbey, Morning Prayer at St John the Baptist in Erith, and a lovely visit with pupils at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School. Pilgrimage teaches us to keep walking - step by step - sustained by prayer and community.

Pray with us today. Ow, Fadda! Eternal Creator, the story of our relationship as revealed in Scripture with you begins with a hymn; a hymn of creation... Find more ways to pray at methodist.org.uk/prayer.
