Sowore, which would you prefer? Otti behaves like other mediocre politicians, does 10%, which is better than the 0% of his predecessor, and joins the APC to get re-elected, since you don’t believe in 50% with the scarce resources of the state? Meanwhile, while doing what you call “50%,” he has cleared lots of debts owed to pensioners, settled years of unpaid salaries, and carried out many invisible cleanup efforts. Oga, try to become a local government chairman, since they now have access to their resources, and show us a template, because becoming president seems impossible at the moment.

@FrEvaristus @Teeniiola What she's talking about is not sermons. It's PREACHING - quoting scriptures to back statements and explaining certain things in life. Referencing tbe bible - old and new testament while talking about a chosen passage for the day. That's what this lady wants and didn't get.

One thing we learned in school is that we cannot argue with religious experience because it is subjective. So this lady may be speaking her truth. There may or may not be others in the parish who feel the same way. In actual fact, Protestant or Pentecostal churches place more emphasis on preaching the Word as their way of worship than the Catholic Church does. Holy Communion is not observed every Sunday in most of those churches; a two-hour service might focus solely on the Word. In the Catholic Church, worship is divided principally into two segments: the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist (Holy Communion). Most Catholics have grown up being satisfied with the nourishment that comes from the brief sermons and the Holy Communion they receive each time they go to church. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Catholic faith. Lengthy preaching is not really a feature of the Catholic Church except during retreats and other programmes. Nevertheless, each priest should prepare prayerfully for the sermon no matter how brief it is. He should speak to the soul and spirit of the person, and this can only be done with the unction that comes from the Holy Spirit. Catholics generally are not critical of their priests’ sermons, knowing they will be nourished anyway by the Eucharist. But sometimes you have someone who is thirsting for more, like this lady. Under such circumstances, because she would already have developed a mindset, it would be difficult to satisfy her inner yearning. She could read the scripture readings in advance, maybe even listen to some sermons on YouTube before going to church. But I think what she has done, if in good faith, is enough to awaken her priests if they had started taking things for granted. I agree there is a lot we still have to do as priests. But comparison does not help, and often it becomes like a situation where a woman is fed up with her husband and gets irritated by every little thing he does.

Coming back from church and I feel like my spirit was not fed today, honestly the gospel in catholic doesn’t cut it for me. Catholic priests should go for pastoral teachings to learn how to dissect the Bible inorder to satisfy their parishioners spiritually”— Catholic Lady bares her heart

Professor Nnenna Oti. On March 22, she etched her name into history when she courageously declared Alex Otti the rightful winner of the Abia governorship election despite intense pressure, intimidation, and threats from powerful interests determined to subvert the will of the people. She did not bend. She did not break. She stood her ground with uncommon resolve and unwavering integrity. Today, we recognize March 22 as Nnenna Oti Day, a tribute to courage, truth, and the audacity to do what is right when it matters most. One of the most iconic Igbo women in history, her legacy is now a beacon for justice, accountability, and fearless leadership. Thank you, Prof!

@AfamDeluxo Thanks a lot Afam and crew for putting thus together. If she didn't stand up, lost souls of the agbado coven would be asking "What would Alex Otti have done differently?" Same way they're asking what OBI would do better than the disaster in Aso Rock

@Morris_Monye Sowore is not serious. For him, nobody in Nigeria is good enough except Sowore. Nobody can perform apart from Sowore. Sowore will be worse than Tinubu and Wike combined if you give him power. Nonsense

This is not a good thing to say. Even if it’s half transformation, which other Governor in Nigeria is doing the “half-transformation” He went from total zero to where Abia is today. Gov. Otti needs to be encouraged. Governance is a marathon and Gov. Otti has covered a good distance.

Just wondering what Nigeria would have been like had Dr Alex EKWUEME been elected president in 1999. Most definitely, not what it s today
Osita Chidoka@osita_chidoka

Biko, in this election season, I appeal to all Igbo political gladiators: campaign freely, support whomever you wish, but leave Ndigbo as a collective out of your statements. Do not question our collective choices. From 1960 to date, Ndigbo have consistently voted in line with what we believe to be our interest. The Igbo people have never operated as a monolithic political bloc directed by any single voice or authority. We have no central parliament that determines a unified electoral position. Our strength has always resided in the independence of thought and the agency of our people. Our voting patterns reflect our understanding of our interests, shaped by history and lived experience. That history is not a light one. It carries the weight of displacement and adaptation; the scars of the transatlantic slave trade; the disruptions of colonial rule; the trauma of pogroms; the devastation of civil war; and the persistence required to navigate structural constraints in its aftermath. Yet, we endured. We overcame. And more importantly, we rebuilt. It is therefore important that, even in moments of political contestation, we approach our collective identity with respect and responsibility. What may be described today as political setbacks must be situated within the broader historical arc of a people defined by resilience, enterprise, and renewal. Let us not, in the urgency of present contests, diminish that enduring story. I appeal to all: engage robustly in politics, but allow Ndigbo the dignity of agency. Respect our long arc of survival. Respect our right to choose. Respect the wisdom of our people. Uche bụ akpa onye ọbụna; onye ọ bụla na-ebu nke ya. As a people, we are guided by Uche, Uchu, and Egwu Chukwu. @Winchester_yarn @Big_Mck Are you aware that tapers have their kids in secondary schools? Our people don't keep records and aren't educated enough to care about auditing local businesses. Maybe then, we'll be able to know how much palm wine contributes to the local economies of respective states.

I understand why this is news. Colonized mentality has made Nigerians to regard certain occupations as beneath human endeavors, let alone ‘worthy’ of generating enough money to own a house. If he was producing fake Jack Daniels, this would not be news, because Jack Daniels is a foreign drink. People drink plan wine, and before you drink Plam wine, you will have to pay the palm wine tapper. Palm wine is even more expensive than most beverages. I don’t understand why it should be shocking that a palm wine tapper makes enough money.
IGBO History & Facts@IgboHistoFacts

A 37-year-old Enugu palm wine tapper named Utobo has built a two-storey house and bought a Mercedes-Benz. He spends 19 hours a day climbing 53 palm trees three times daily. He produces 24 gallons of palm wine, which he sells at the market every day.

Tiwa Savage has had her antecedents, but your question is misplaced Girl, I had 100 million naira in my doorstep, TWICE If you stand for nothing, you fall for everything. The reason Nigeria is a disgraced nation is because of greed by those who should speak up to save our nation.
TACHA🔱🇬🇭 🇳🇬@Symply_Tacha

For those of you dragging Tiwa Savage for attending a royal dinner, I genuinely want to understand the logic.. Are you saying she should have declined an official invitation tied to a state visit between Nigeria and the British Royal Family?? Cause of what people on the internet will say? Be honest.. if you were in her position, representing your country on that level, would you even DREAM of TURNING iT DOWN??

@n6tmhs The type of parents that produced these beasts would be my primary concern should this level of cruelty be anywhere near my child. I can't even imagine it. I'll treat the parents first, then the little devils, then the school authority where this criminality happens
