Volunteers from #Longford Civil Defence joined over 300 of their colleagues in NUI Maynooth to celebrate 75 years of Civil Defence in Ireland. Commemorative medals were presented to all #volunteers by Minister Thomas Byrne TD & Jacqui McCrum Secretary General Dept of Defence.

This Thursday afternoon Civil Defence Officers & Volunteers from across the country will be kindly hosted by @PresidentIRL at a reception to mark 75 years of Civil Defence in Ireland.

With grateful thanks to the #Volunteers who helped out in the community after #StormÉowyn during the past couple of weeks. They assisted with various taskings such as checking in on vulnerable persons and providing bottled water to people and community hubs.
