Cyprus stands in solidarity with our Baltic partners. Violations of airspace and threats to civilian safety undermine regional security and increase the risk of further escalation. Respect for international law, restraint, and the protection of human life must remain the shared priority of the international community.

Σε κοινή διακήρυξη προχώρησαν Κύπρος και Ινδία, επιβεβαιώνοντας τις στενές σχέσεις των δύο χωρών που εδράζονται σε κοινές αρχές, αμοιβαίο σεβασμό, προσήλωση στο Διεθνές Δίκαιο και κοινό όραμα για σταθερότητα, συνεργασία και πολυμερή συντονισμό. Η Κοινή Διακήρυξη Κύπρου–Ινδίας άπτεται ιδιαίτερης πολιτικής σημασίας τομέων, όπως η διεθνής πολιτική, η άμυνα και ασφάλεια, η αντιμετώπιση της τρομοκρατίας, η κυβερνοασφάλεια, η οικονομία και οι επενδύσεις, η καινοτομία και τεχνολογία, η ναυτιλία και συνδεσιμότητα, οι σχέσεις Ινδίας–Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, καθώς και η περιφερειακή σταθερότητα στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο και την ευρύτερη περιοχή. Ιδιαίτερης σημασίας είναι και η επαναβεβαίωση της σταθερής θέσης της Ινδίας υπέρ της κυριαρχίας, της ανεξαρτησίας και της εδαφικής ακεραιότητας της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, καθώς και της ανάγκης επίλυσης του Κυπριακού στη βάση των σχετικών ψηφισμάτων των Ηνωμένων Εθνών. Αναδεικνύεται παράλληλα ο στρατηγικός ρόλος της Κύπρου ως αξιόπιστης γέφυρας μεταξύ Ινδίας, Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και Ανατολικής Μεσογείου, σε ένα διαρκώς μεταβαλλόμενο διεθνές περιβάλλον. 🇨🇾🇮🇳

📍Νέο Δελχί ~ Στο πλαίσιο της κρατικής επίσκεψης του Προέδρου @Christodulides στην Ινδία, είχα την ιδιαίτερη χαρά, εκ μέρους της 🇨🇾 να ανταλλάξω με τον @DrSJaishankar δυο Μνημόνια Συναντίληψης, τα οποία συνιστούν ένα ακόμη ουσιαστικό βήμα για την υλοποίηση του Κοινού Σχεδίου Δράσης 2025-2029 και την αναβάθμιση της συνεργασίας 🇨🇾-🇮🇳 σε στρατηγική σχέση. Η ενίσχυση της συνεργασίας στην αντιμετώπιση της τρομοκρατίας, καθώς επίσης στη διπλωματική εκπαίδευση μεταξύ των Διπλωματικών Ακαδημιών Κύπρου και Ινδίας, αποτυπώνει στην πράξη το διαρκώς ενισχυόμενο βάθος της εταιρικής μας σχέσης. @CyprusMFA @MEAIndia

📍New Delhi ~ Within the framework of @PresidentCYP @Christodulides’ State Visit, I had the distinct pleasure to exchange two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with my dear colleague @DrSJaishankar, marking another concrete step in implementing the Joint Action Plan 2025-2029 and elevating 🇨🇾-🇮🇳 relations to a Strategic Partnership. 🔹MoU on counter-terrorism 🔹MoU on diplomatic training Tangible cooperation reflecting the growing depth of our bilateral partnership. @CyprusMFA @MEAIndia

Delighted and honoured to arrive in New Delhi for the second part of my State Visit to India. Together we paved a path. With strategic vision, for an evolving partnership that delivers for Cyprus and India. From security and defence to technology, innovation, maritime cooperation and economic connectivity. It is a distinct pleasure to be here today at the National Stock Exchange of India, and to be here also at a time when Cyprus–India relations have gained a new momentum and increasing strategic depth. That is precisely the reason that my day in Mumbai has been dedicated to discussions and engagements aimed at seizing this momentum, and strengthening the economic and business ties between Cyprus and India. And in this context, it is particularly fitting that I am visiting one of the world’s leading financial and market institutions, reflecting India’s dynamism, innovation and growing global economic role. 🇨🇾🇪🇺🇮🇳

Exceptionally pleased to be in India. This state visit comes less than a year since my good friend, Prime Minister Modi @narendramodi, visited Cyprus. And it also comes at a moment when Cyprus holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Cyprus and India share a partnership that is deeply rooted. We have committed to take it to new heights. And that is what we will deliver together. Because strength comes through partnership. 🇨🇾🇪🇺🇮🇳

The acts displayed by Minister Ben Gvir towards flotilla participants are utterly unacceptable and inconsistent with democratic norms and fundamental values of human dignity. While the statements issued by Israeli government members distancing themselves from such disrespectful conduct are noted, rectifying steps should be taken immediately. Such condemnable behaviour can never be tolerated and should be duly accounted for.

Distinct honour accompanying @PresidentCYP @Christodulides on his State Visit to India, only the second such visit by a President of Cyprus in the history of 🇨🇾-🇮🇳 bilateral relations. Building on the momentum created by Prime Minister @narendramodi’s recent visit to Cyprus, as well as my visit to India last October, this State Visit takes place at a moment of substantive upgrading of 🇨🇾-🇮🇳 relations, as well as the strengthening of 🇪🇺-🇮🇳 partnership during the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. @CyprusinIndia

Today’s discussions focused on Ukraine’s EU accession process, with the aim of opening new clusters in June, as well as the issue of Ukrainian children forcibly removed during the war. We also stressed the need for an EU-level assessment of the impact of developments in the Middle East, particularly on energy supplies, inflation and food security. At the same time, we reaffirmed our support for Lebanon at this critical stage and look forward to this evening’s High-Level Dialogue with Syria, an important step in strengthening EU engagement in the region. 📍Brussels ~ Ahead of the High Level Political Dialogue between EU and Syria, meeting with Interim #Syria FM @Asaad_Shaibani. Discussions focused on regional developments, EU-Syria relations, Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as fostering pathways of cooperation and supporting Syria on the basis of good-neighborly relations and international law.
