Most of the students marching in today’s #NationalSchoolWalkout were born after the Columbine shooting. They grew up in a different world – and now they’re coming together to try and make it better. This is what democracy looks like. This is how we make change. #GunReformNow
Students from more than 2,500 schools across the country are walking out of class as part of a National School Walkout to demand action on gun reform.

There’s been a change of plans! The majority of participants agreed to MAX downtown to protest at City Hall, which is where we are headed! If you are not with us, we hope to see you there! Check out bus and MAX schedules.
We trust that if you chose to walk out, you will conduct yourself in an orderly manner. We strongly advise you do not disrupt classes or participate in any activity that could be classified as vandalism, harrassment, or against the law (except, of course, truancy 🙂).
We remind you that this is an act of civil disobedience. We understand the last walkout had the approval from administration, but as far as we know, they are completely unaware of this one. This means your actions could lead to potential punishment, so walk out at your own risk.
CLACKAMAS, we invite you to walk out this Friday, April 20th at 10am-3:10pm outside of the West Campus entrance. The 20th is the anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting, considered the deadliest school shooting in US history until only a few months ago. @schoolwalkoutUS
MARCH FOR OUR LIVES IS TOMORROW. Join 7,000 students and people downtown to call for an end to gun violence and school shootings. @ the North Park Blocks from 10am-2pm @March4LivesPdx

Thank you Clackamas for attending the walkout to show solidarity with the 17 victims of the Stoneman Douglas shooting. If you want to do another small action, feel free to sign this poster in the commons!
❗️CLACKAMAS❗️
TOMORROW IS THE WALKOUT! Go out onto the football field @ 10am (after first period) for 17 minutes of silence to show support for the 17 victims of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. All teachers are aware and there will be security.
The school is aware of the walkout! Your second period teachers will wait to take attendance and there will be security present. But please keep in mind you will be walking out at your own risk.
On February 14th, 17 people were killed by a gunman in their own high school in Parkland, Florida. These shootings have become more and more common in the US. Join us and walk out on March 14th on the football field for 17 minutes of silence for each of the victims.
