How can the lessons he drew from the Holocaust be applied to today’s hostile world, where authoritarian leaders threaten to destroy fragile societies and where memory of the Holocaust has faded? The film “Hannah Arendt: Facing Tyranny” will be followed by a discussion with Jeff Bieber, the film’s co-director; Roger Stuart Berkowitz, founder and Academic Director of the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities; and Ruth Weinberger, a Claims Conference historian. The panel will be moderated by former NBC News’ chief political analyst Chuck Todd. So, when she realizes Sarajevo’s Jews are being rounded up by Nazis, putting her friend Rifka and Rifka’s family in danger, she risks everything to save them. 50 years later, during the Bosnian War, it’s the Muslims who are being hunted, and Rifka must find a way to rescue Zejneba and her family in turn. "Inked: Our Stories Remarked" - directed by Dara Bratt An exploration into a captivating yet complex new phenomenon where third-generation descendants of Holocaust survivors choose to remember their ancestors through commemorative Holocaust tattoos. Through interviews with survivors and their descendants, combined with cinematic visuals and archival footage, this short documentary explores the decision to etch history onto the body – an act that invites us to confront essential questions about memory, Jewish identity, and self-expression.
