Very worth listening to the great Max Richter, speaking yesterday in Parliament about the impact of unlicensed AI training on musicians' livelihoods.
"In the longer term, [unlicensed training] is going to lead to, I think, some societal consequences. You're going to get a kind of vanilla-isation of music culture, as this automated material starts to edge out human creators. And I think you're also going to get an impoverishing of human creators."
"If we allow the erosion of copyright - which is really how value is created in the music sector - then we're going to be in a position where there won't be artists in the future."
