Policing loses two of their own to suicide every month. This conveyor belt of death has been operating for far too long and vulnerable personnel don't get the attention they deserve. When oh when will this tragedy end? Former inspector Jonathan Ezard fell to his death. R.I.P. 💙

We should share this far and wide, there needs to be more collaboration and support.

Folks a week ago I posted that an Ex police officer had committed suicide; it wasn’t public so I could give No further details; it was a colleague of his who contacted me; an Ex outstanding GMP Insp jumped from a 100ft Bridge; his crime? He WhatsApp a mate about a female officer; Sackable? in My Opinion? NO! He resigned as he knew what was coming & now? He’s DEAD by SUICIDE! RIP Brother🤦‍♂️🙏

Following the devastating news of losing Jon Ezard, I immediately wrote to the @ukhomeoffice, the @CollegeofPolice @Jonathan_Hinder and @JonathanBrash. Today, I have also sent a formal letter to Home Secretary @ShabanaMahmood. I am calling for a face-to-face meeting and I want to bring with me the families of police officers who felt so trapped and unsupported that they took their own lives. These are real people, real families and real lives that have been torn apart while policing ‘leaders’ watch on. Government representatives need to hear directly from the partners and children left behind and those living with the consequences of these failures. But this is also about change. If these meetings are refused, we will take a stronger stance and explore other avenues to ensure this cannot be ignored. For that, I will need the support of the wider police family and the public who stand behind them.

Folks I am aware of an Ex Police Officer who Committed Suicide yesterday; he said something inappropriate on a WhatsApp about a colleague it wasn’t too Appalling & could have been dealt with but someone complained; He resigned & he’s Now Dead; it was a Final Written Warning at most; I know his name rank & force; Pushed to SUICIDE with absolute no care & was a highly thought of officer & Leader; I’ll leave it there! RIP Mate😞🙏

@rorygeo 1/2 This video isn’t new, in fact, the Outreach department I was proudly part of, collaborating in communities, no longer exists. Frontline Policing is priority, for all Londoners who asked for it, and for senior leaders too against the backdrop of budget cuts + social pressures.
