@LynneDoherty_ Lynne, notwithstanding Lee’s position, my recollection was that election of the Leader was not a 4 year appointment but an annual appointment made by the Group, based on a democratic vote. I’m therefore surprised that you are suggesting that it’s an automatic 4 year commitment.

When you take on this role you know it’s a 4 year commitment. You do not walk away for a ‘sabbatical’ when you realise it’s not going as planned & you might just be held to account for your mistakes by electorate. Leadership requires dedication, accountability & yes, hard work!
