Yesterday, @Makerere University School of Public Health successfully concluded a five-day specialized short course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), focused on their application in tuberculosis (TB) research. Held from June 23–27, 2025, in Kololo, the course brought together graduate students, researchers, and junior- to mid-level faculty working in TB and digital health technologies.
The training was organized by the School of Public Health through its Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, in collaboration with the University of Georgia (@universityofga) supported by @NIH, under the ALLSTAR Training Program. Co-led by Assoc. Prof. @KiwanukaNoah from MakSPH and Assoc. Prof. Juliet N. Sekandi (@JulietSekandi) from the University of Georgia, the course aimed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in applying digital technologies to health research.
