WORKING TOGETHER TO CHANGE COMMUNITIES 🤝 Proud to hear strong appreciation from Tororo district leaders at our project close-out. Over 9 months, @BaylorUganda, with @UNICEFUganda and district partners in Tororo, Kiryandongo & Kamwenge, has worked to tackle teenage pregnancy and vulnerability. We recognized outstanding leadership from the District Health Department, Mulanda HC IV & Mukuju HC IV for advancing adolescent health services. Together, we’re changing the narrative. #WorkingTogether #CommunityImpact #AdolescentHealth #EndTeenPregnancy #PublicHealth #HealthForAll #PartnershipsThatWork #UNICEF #BaylorUganda #SRHR #YouthEmpowerment #GlobalHealth #LeaveNoOneBehind #HealthEquity #Uganda #Tororo #Kiryandongo #Kamwenge @DithanKiragga

2 out of every 3 new HIV infections among adolescents in Uganda occur in girls. Let that sink in. Adolescent girls & young women are 4x more likely to be living with HIV than boys of the same age. But change is possible. Through programs that provide skills, services, and support, young women are reclaiming their futures. Nadia is one of them. After joining the GC7 program supported by the Global Fund through TASO, she’s building a better life for herself and her child. Medicines don’t save lives if they sit on the wrong shelf. Because the right medicine, at the right place, saves lives. In Eastern Uganda, our supply chain teams are using data to track stock levels and move health commodities from overstocked facilities to those facing shortages ensuring patients get life-saving medicines when they need them. Proud of our teams in Mbale & Moroto. Data isn’t just numbers. It’s a lifeline. #HealthSystems #SupplyChain #GlobalHealth #DataForHealth

🚛 THE SUPPLY CHAIN TEAM IS AT IT AGAIN! Unstoppable. Resilient. Committed to excellence. Despite limited funding, the Supply Chain Teams from @bayloruganda and @UgandaPrisons, in collaboration with the @MinofHealthUG, have once again delivered outstanding results. A total of 325 health facilities successfully submitted timely orders for: TB medicines, HIV commodities, essential medicines, HIV test kits and general laboratory supplies This achievement in the ordering cycle that closed on 1st March is a testament to their dedication to ensuring uninterrupted access to life-saving health commodities. #HealthSupplyChain #StrongerHealthSystems #HIVResponse #TBControl #PartnershipInAction

@BaylorUganda and partners at the Parliament of Uganda Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a silent threat — and the time to act is now. During Uganda Parliament’s AMR subcommittee meeting this week, experts and legislators discussed waste management and mining and its potential to fuel drug-resistant infections if action is delayed. Leaders are calling for urgent, coordinated solutions. Policy. Science. Action. That’s how we win. #AMR #PublicHealth #Uganda @DKiragga, @PeterElyanu, @RogersKisame, @Parliament_Ug, @hepsuganda, @MinofHealthUG, @min_waterUg, @Lung_Institute, @nemaug, @MEMD_Uganda

EPIDEMIC PREPAREDNESS AT THE FRONTLINE - Are we prepared? With 833+ outbreaks recorded between 2000–2020, health workers have been identified as being at high risk. The Ministry of Health - Uganda in collaboration with @bayloruganda and with support from the @StateDept is rolling out an integrated Epidemic-Ready Primary Healthcare (ERPHC) capacity-building initiative for health teams in Mbale and Karamoja. The initiative aims to equip health workers with skills in surveillance, infection prevention and control, and case management for faster and effective outbreak response. #EpidemicPreparedness #PublicHealth #HealthSecurity #Uganda @DKiragga, @PeterElyanu, @robertmajwala

The new government policy requiring compulsory Sickle Cell screening for newborns must be applauded, and supported, especially for us from Busoga, where prevalence of the disease is very high.
