Africa is uniting to change the narrative on Sickle Cell Disease. 🌍 49 African states are gathered in Uganda for the Technical Validation & Launch Workshop of the Continental Plan for SCD and Other Rare Blood Disorders convened by Africa CDC. “Africa carries over 70% of the global burden of SCD,” noted Dr. Mohammed Abdulaziz-Head of Division, Disease Control and Prevention @AfricaCDC, calling for scalable interventions to save lives.
