Soldiers from many NATO nations lost their lives alongside the Brits and US soldiers, so how can a five times fucking draft dodger have the audacity to spit on the graves of heroes that DID answer America’s call? 🚨 Storm Goretti brings gusts of 99mph to Cornwall as a rare red wind warning in in force for parts of south-west England Someone is getting the sack tomorrow morning … it’s as calm as anything outside and I live in the south west

Good evening everyone What a truly exceptional and dangerous evening of weather we’ve just experienced across Cornwall. This storm has delivered some extreme wind speeds, and this is very much a high-impact event, not just another windy night. We’ve received credible reports of gusts exceeding 123mph near the Padstow area, with widespread reports of 90–108mph gusts across much of West Cornwall. Our own KWT weather station recorded a very strong 93mph, before also taking a bit of a hit itself. These figures put this storm firmly into the damaging and destructive category. Unsurprisingly, we’re now seeing the impacts on the ground: 🌳 Numerous trees down, some blocking roads ⚡ Power lines brought down across roads 🏘️Widespread disruption being reported 🔌 Over 45,000 power cuts affecting around 85 areas at the last count If you are planning to travel in the next few hours, please think very carefully. If your journey isn’t essential, delay it if you can. Debris, fallen trees, damaged power lines, and flooding in places make travel hazardous, especially in the dark and during ongoing strong gusts. We also want to be open and honest with you all there may be fewer updates from me tomorrow. We’ve suffered some damage ourselves, and our weather station has taken a knock too, so we’ll need time to make things safe and assess everything properly. Safety always comes first. Thank you, as always, for the huge number of reports, messages, photos, and support. Even when we can’t reply to everyone, it really does help us build the bigger picture of what’s happening across Cornwall.
