2/2 I gave two Olympians a lift to the race today. 3 hours or so in a car and you start to pick the brains of such talented athletes. Honestly, it’s remarkable how over complicated the world makes improvement seem possible. Year on year consistent hard work and commitment.

@ultrabritton Of course not all shoe. Perfect example- @stabler1705 ran 13:45 last year in ‘normal’ race flats & was likely towed round/tucked in behind those in marginal gain shoes. Not saying its negative at all, just highlighting a change in average performance trends & the catalyst for it

I gather blade shoes have short lifespan so on top of exorbitant price, users have to buy new pairs frequently. People on low incomes & kids from poor families will be excluded from this once simple, accessible & inexpensive sport. And all for what?
