As I wrote in Hit Em Where it Hurts, the advantage Republicans enjoy on social media, cable news, and talk radio is one that was bought and paid for by smart investors who understand the realities of American voters. Consulting firms distribute the messaging. Influencers amplify it. Media legitimizes it. And the audience experiences it all as spontaneous political discourse. The next thing you know 75% of swing voters think Biden is too old while Trump (who is basically the same age) was doing two hour onstage rants, making shit up and talking about things like sharks and electric boats. Mischief managed.
