In the end 3X4 and 4X3 results in the same answer being 12, 3 4's or 4 3's, there's no real point in breaking them down as shown

@Math_files This is actually correct. The multiplication symbol (in mathematical terms) means “of.” So it actually reads “3 of 4.” 3 sets of 4. 4+4+4=12. That’s likely the point of the assignment so credit cannot be given, even if 4 of 3 equals the same number.

@ClaytasticClay That's an interesting solution and would be really neat for an SMG of the same aesthetic when the operation could be done two handed. You gave me an idea for the stock rotation being part of the case lock and weapon retention mechanism. Thank you!

@mike_doscher Allright, the lach keeping the case closed becomes the butt of the stock. The upper half gets twisted 180° so that you have a flatter surface as a cheek rest. And upon unfolding both halves and twisting the upper, the latch comes back down and makes the 2 loose halves sturdy

@ClaytasticClay I need to figure that out. Thing is the case will stay affixed to the frame or fitting and the gun gets drawn out with this sort of relationship, only anime sci fi. I can sacrifice some plausibility to get a good feel. Stock length is an issue and might extend while unholstering

@mike_doscher Would be cool if you could somehow use the case as the stock, by mounting it onto the reworked stock, giving it some actual lenght to shoulder the rifle

@ClaytasticClay Stock is undergoing a major rework because it’s how release from the case is actuated and will incorporate a latch and op rod that has some receiver interdepencies.
