🚨 We're updating our forecast for tomorrow, July 17 to code red 🛑 #AirQuality throughout the entire #DC-#Baltimore region. Particle pollution from wildfires in Canada is combining with already high ground-level ozone trapped by the heat to create unhealthy conditions.

🚨 We're forecasting code orange 🔶 #AirQuality conditions beginning tomorrow (7/15) in much of the #DC-#Baltimore region, continuing and expanding as the week progresses. Those in sensitive groups should avoid prolonged outdoor activity, and everyone should minimize emissions.

Less water used = less #AirPollution generated by water treatment. To conserve up to 50% of the water you would normally use on your lawn and garden, use a smart device for watering.💧 Just look for the @EPA "WaterSense" label.👍

Why pay (and use valuable #energy) to cool parts of your home that you don't use? If you have a room or an area in your house that you rarely enter, shut #HVAC vents in those areas to conserve energy and reduce unnecessary #emissions.⚡️❄️

Here's a *🆒* tip to help you stave off the heat this summer: use fans throughout your home to circulate the air, keep your house cooler, and reduce the burden on your AC unit. You'll reduce your #energy usage and save money, too!⚡️👍

We're forecasting good 💚 #AirQuality in the #Baltimore-#DC region today & Saturday, slipping to moderate 🟨 air quality on Sunday. If possible, front-load #emissions-heavy weekend activities like running errands and using gas-powered lawn tools like mowers and blowers.

If you use gas lawn tools for yard work, wait until the evening to break them out.🌱🌅 Not only will it be cooler and more pleasant at that time, but less sunlight results in fewer chemical reactions and less #AirPollution. The more you know!
