@caleb_friesen We've been complaining about our lane for over two months, yet look at the condition of The Alley Road, Worli, Mumbai. Footpaths are in dismay, completely encroached, stalls and rats all over and an empty plot used as an open toilet and garbage dump.

Day 7 of tracking my formally registered footpath complaint. Progress: No update on the e-grievance portal. In just 13 months, this footpath in Koramangala, Bengaluru went from being walkable to hazardous. It is now an open, unwalkable pit full of sitting water and litter.

@BBCWorld This was the condition of the lane (next to the most expensive residences in India) until a couple days ago. Majority of the trash remains uncleared. Public urination is a daily occurrence, yet the authorities refuse to fence the plot and clean up the footpaths.

Footpaths in Mumbai aren’t for pedestrians anymore. They’re for illegal stalls, garbage dumping, and official blindness. Worli, Mumbai — prime area, prime taxes, zero enforcement. Pedestrians can risk their lives on roads. Babus are comfortable. @mybmc shame on you!
