@TheIntelFrog Just has this exact conversation with my wife. After working a few events with USSS and the entity I was working with, I made the point to the wife this morning that we had zero communication between us and them. We had our radios, and they had theirs. No liaison.

After the failures of interoperability on 9/11, this will go down as one of the biggest failures of the US Secret Service yesterday. In today's age, there is no valid reason why local and federal law enforcement operating at an event like this, can't talk to each other. People saw the shooter and notified police, presumably uniformed local/state police and not USSS. The lines of communication between echelons of security for a protectee should be open and seamless not fragmented and hinging on a single point of failure.
