4 weeks after total knee replacement… several 5km rough walks, stiles etc. lovely to be back home. First “normal” day back at work today.

These aerial images have been captured this Thursday morning in Nsanje by the @MalawiRedCross drone. More and more houses submerged in water. Thousands of people are displaced. The situation is worse. Search and rescue continues. More humanitarian assistance is needed.

#CycloneFreddy has caused unprecedented levels of devastation in #Malawi. My #paediatric colleagues and I have seen unimaginable horror at QECH, Blantyre. The worlds most vulnerable being the most heavily impacted by #ClimateCrisis. And not being reported in global north.

9 days post knee replacement. A new life of cycling on a turbo trainer in the garage, walking very slowly on a crutch and eating lots of fruit which I keep gratefully receiving. Rewarded by a new personal best of a 110 degree knee flexion this morning #tkr

72 hours post knee replacement and back home. dog walk from home. Only 100 metres and very slow….but delighted with progress. Early days yet….

24 hours post op after total knee replacement…. So far so good.

Six hours into a new knee. Total knee replacement at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne. All good so far but a wee bit painful now. Already walked on it #tkr #knee
