I am building a new trading instrument on @solana: THESIS INDEX Millions of people hold macro theses like AI will dominate the world. Now, how do they get exposure to this conviction? Buy correlated assets like NVDA? Not the best. The thesis will play out, and the stock may still go down due to multiple factors like earnings, Taiwan supply chain, management risk, etc. Correlated assets come with a lot of unnecessary risk exposure. ETFs and equity indices help manage this risk, but still fail to give true exposure to the underlying bet Trade Options? They're the closest comparable instruments for betting on a directional view although they're built for continuous price movements, which don't go well with macro outcomes that are mostly binary Prediction Markets - event contracts with a binary outcome capture this perfectly. No variance risk premium, no complex structures, a clear YES/NO outcome on the defined event In fact, research like slampaper* has shown Prediction Markets are structurally cheaper and better at execution than Options on an institutional scale for categories like Bitcoin, Elections, etc The next growth phase for prediction markets is becoming the underlying for indices! Indices have proven to work well for both institutions and retail: - CDX/iTraxx (Credit Default Swap Index) had $9.75 trillion in notional volume in 2024. Mostly used by institutions for hedging, they're also a clear way to express macro views: buy CDX if you believe a recession is coming - Regional Index ETFs like S&P 500, NIFTY 50, and CSI 300 are predominantly held by retail investors My belief: Thesis Index (tokenised index backed by prediction positions) will become the preferred way to access prediction markets! Thesis Index is the most efficient instrument to bet on a macro outcome without needing to deploy and manage multiple positions.
