We are always learning at CMA History. This is an achievement that Miss Byrne should be #proud of and the Humanities Team are certainly proud of her! Listening to some of the things she has learnt will continue to strengthen our curriculum and the experiences of our students. 🙌

Received my @histassoc ECDP certificate the other day. So proud to be part of such a fantastic community. I would highly recommend this course to any Early Careers History teachers! The best CPD I’ve done in a while. Made me think back to so many aspects of my training.

A Year 9 brought in some WW2 family history today. I was beyond amazed at what he brought in. The photos are colleagues of his great nanny from her time in the WRAF with messages on the back. The letters of commendation show what a contribution she made. Just incredible.

Members of the CMA history team have been out visiting castles this week. Mrs Beaton has set a challenge of #22castlesin2022. Here's Mrs Jones' castle for #1, Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland. If others from CMA are visiting castles this year, let us know so we can reach 22!

What a wonderful opportunity Year 9 had this afternoon to listen to @DavidOlusoga. Thanks to the @BSCFestLit for organising the event and for David Olusoga for giving his time. Year 9, remember the different versions of his book are in the @CastleManorPLC ready to be borrowed!

@PhillipaJC @MrsBeaton2 Oh absolutely. Diversifying our curriculum is a real focus for us and it will take time as there are only two of us but we are making inroads! Books like yours will help!

As a person with cerebral palsy, I actually avoided talking about disability for over 45 years unless I was forced to talk about my condition/explain my existence so this book is a huge step for me both as a disabled person and as an historian publishing my first non fiction book

Disability History Month is Nov 22-Dec 22. Whilst disability history should be woven into curriculums, I hope this resource will be useful to not only champion this month but also highlight where it can be further woven in. Link: drive.google.com/drive/folders/… 1/3 🧵

Women’s History Month. A woman in history a day, smashes the patriarchy away! ✊💜🔨 A calendar resource for students of some women in history as well as some of our great historians @HallieRubenhold @MirandaKaufmann Link: drive.google.com/drive/folders/…
