No he did not. He wasn’t in the legislature when they voted for “cover all Oregon” and if he was he would have noted no. Not accurate at all. 👇 HB 2010 did not expand healthcare to anyone, let alone ‘illegals.’ It simply extended the existing tax and assessment mechanisms that bring billions of federal dollars into Oregon to fund the Oregon Health Plan for our citizens, seniors, children, and disabled residents. The full-scope coverage under Healthier Oregon for non-citizens is paid almost entirely by Oregon taxpayers, not federal dollars. Federal reimbursement is limited to emergency and labor/delivery care that every hospital in America is already required by federal law to provide and that Medicaid would reimburse regardless. Representative Diehl’s yes vote protected Oregon families and saved rural hospitals from losing critical federal matching funds. Claiming otherwise is a deliberate distortion of both the bill text and the funding rules. Oregonians deserve honest debate about state spending priorities.

You can love the Trail Blazers and want them to stay in Portland while strongly opposing SB 1501. I disagree with Drazan and Dudley on this issue. SB 1501 hands over $365 million in taxpayer dollars with no ironclad guarantee the Blazers stay before securing binding lease terms, robust revenue-sharing, or meaningful private investment from ownership. This giveaway cedes bargaining power, exposes taxpayers to greater risk of overruns and weak returns, and puts team profits ahead of Oregon’s fiscal responsibility. Voters deserve leaders who fight for good deals, not rushed concessions driven by fear. Let’s play to win, and together take back our Oregon.

The aspect that stands out most to me is that the survey was circulated primarily through social media and email, yet the candidates with the largest followings did not perform as well as Diehl. Diehl’s online supporters appear more motivated to take action, which could definitely translate directly into actual votes.
