City of Windhoek held its first public consultation for the EIA of the proposed Okandundu & Okatunda townships, north of Okuryangava Ext 1. Residents reviewed the layout and shared input. Register as an Interested & Affected Party and submit comments before 30 March 2026.

Ndjebela highlighted the vital role that effective communication plays in strengthening governance, building public trust, and encouraging meaningful stakeholder participation, emphasing that residents and stakeholders primarily want to be heard, informed, and respected.

The City of Windhoek’s Strategic Review and Budget Workshop continued today with an insightful presentation by guest speaker and newspaper editor, Toivo Ndjebela who delivered a presentation titled “The Art of Communication and Stakeholder Engagement as a Tool for Budgeting.”

Hi @CoWMunicipality it's me again. I just want to make sure: Are you guys saying that if the people don't move willingly, that the project just dies like that and Havanna will never get proper roads? Development for the neighborhood ends there? Everyone remains in dust?

The engagement also underscored that achieving NDP6 objectives will require strong collaboration among government, the private sector, development partners, and communities to drive inclusive and sustainable development.

City of Windhoek councillors today received a briefing on Namibia’s NDP6 during the 2026/27 Strategic Review & Budget Workshop in Okahandja. Samuel Thimende of NPC emphasized the importance of aligning municipal planning and budgeting with Namibia’s broader development agenda.

@Josy_Ndili The City is experiencing resistance from some residents and traders operating within the road reserve. While efforts are underway to relocate those affected to alternative sites, progress has been slower due to willingness among the residents to move.

Dearest @CoWMunicipality , please, kindly explain to me how its possible that the construction site of the Havana 4 way still looks like that after starting almost a year ago. What exactly is the problem and why is the site being left to deteriorate for long periods of time?
