The City’s SADCAS-accredited Water Laboratory continues to monitor and test water quality to ensure compliance with national and international standards.

The tour provided first-hand insight into the wastewater treatment and water reclamation processes that ensure safe, high-quality drinking water for residents. Reclaimed water contributes about 20% of Windhoek’s water supply.

The City of Windhoek today hosted members of the media on an information tour of the Gammams Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Laboratory, and the New Goreangab Water Reclamation Plant operated by WINGOC.

The City of Windhoek would like to inform residents of a possible water supply interruption affecting most parts of Windhoek due to limited water supply from our bulk water supplier, NamWater.

I think the Namibian Government should put up a law that cars shouldn't be allowed at Stop N Shop during pay days. The @CoWMunicipality should allocate piece of land that is to be transformed into a safe parking.

The Mayor of the Municipal Council of Windhoek, Sakarias Uunona, says about 8,000 households have been connected to the electricity grid under the city’s electrification programme, with a further 1,300 households targeted in the 2025/2026 financial year at a cost of N$33 million. The programme, implemented since 2018 in partnership with central government through the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy, focuses on informal and peri-urban settlements experiencing rapid urbanisation. “To date, approximately 8,000 households have been connected to the electricity grid, a clear demonstration of what can be achieved through strong partnerships and a shared vision. In the 2025/2026 financial year, construction work commenced to electrify approximately 1,300 households at an estimated cost of N$33 million,” Uunona said. @CoWMunicipality really please tell me why does it have to take 2-4 months to fix the water metre reading that is stuck? I reported the matter in January when I found out and up to today nothing happened, everytime I call Municipality J got a response "we will send someone"
