@TJ_Randall12 This WR class is 2011 all over again, at least with the top 2. Those comps are exact.

@Coach_Burrell1 Literally just 3 Hi Tampa where you have an Even front. For when you rather fit the run late than get thrown on all day. Works great if your Nickel (Middle Safety here) is a stud.

I love college football. I’m good with 12 team playoff. I think that’s a really good number. Having a 24 team playoff is gross.

Anthony Richardson sitting has nothing to do with Steichen’s system and everything to do Richardson not even functioning at the most basic level of NFL QB play. If you can’t hunt completions or refuse to do so, you will never sustain enough scoring drives to win games.
Stephen Holder@HolderStephen

This is the deal: Shane Steichen wants someone to execute his scheme the way he wants bc he believes it’s good enough to win even with an avg QB. Maybe he’s right. But the issue is AR requires you to relax that approach and Shane is just not willing — for better or worse. 🤷🏾‍♂️

What separates many of the elite football players is that the elite ones understand football theory and not just a given scheme or technique. They know the why behind everything, they know every player’s job on that unit, and they know the tools of how to solve every problem within that system. They also then play the fastest of any player on the field because of that.

Will McClay calls Caleb Downs a "football savant." During his 30 visit, Downs broke down the Ohio State defense, his former Alabama defense, AND the Cowboys defense. 🤯

off the top of my head. scheme-wise I’m looking to see if offenses evolve, adapt, or vary their protections up more to account for defenses currently being so advanced in knowing how to break traditional rules. I think the league-wide ADOT for QBs starts to creep up slightly as offenses understand they need to push the ball more. Defenses are playing so top-down and also doing things like dropping 8 more frequently, so more traditional dropback stuff (5 and 7 step concepts), especially from under center, continue to make a comeback. Especially on early downs. Defenses might be getting faster and putting more DBs on the field, running is one way to beat it but also continuing to threaten over the top is the other way to create space. I’m also curious to see if offenses find ways to weaponize underneath throws. Lead blockers on swings, glorified middle screens on deeper concepts.

@Nate_Tice what do you think could be the biggest evolution or shift in the meta next year?

There is extreme value for NFL teams to compare their boards to consensus. They provide an outside and generally unbiased, macro lense. Almost guaranteed teams like the Bucs and Browns have plus production value and teams like the Jags and Cardinals have negative value.

Some really elite offensive minds are very clearly planning to really dive into 12/21/13P. Texans, Bears, and Saints all have 3 dudes now Rams have 5 potential TE’s they can roster 49ers, Raiders, and Bills already each have 2 TE’s and a FB that they all use/will use. Those backups all add special teams value and they’ll now see legit offensive snaps as these personnel trends get heavier.
