Christians, Why discernment matters!! 🙏 The Bible makes it clear that the devil is real, demons are real, and spiritual warfare is real. What many Christians underestimate is that Satan knows Scripture and he knows how to twist it. In Matthew 4:6, when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, the devil literally quoted Scripture to Him. But he left out key truth and distorted God’s Word to serve his own agenda. That same tactic is still being used today. This is why discernment is critical. If we don’t know God’s Word for ourselves, we become vulnerable to half-truths, misapplied verses, and teachings that sound spiritual but are not biblical. The enemy doesn’t always come with obvious evil he often comes disguised as light, using Scripture out of context to deceive. As believers, we are commanded to: -Be alert -Stand firm in the faith -Put on the full armor of God -Test every spirit -Resist the devil Knowing Scripture in context is not optional. It is spiritual protection. The devil may know Scripture, but only those who walk with Christ, submit to God, and live by His Word will have the discernment to recognize truth from deception. “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” -James 4:7 Peter 5:8–9 “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith…”
