🚨 #UFL EXPANSION UPDATE 🚨
With the league announcing that Oklahoma City will be one of two expansion teams by 2028, it’s clear the UFL is gaining real traction. The league is strategically targeting newer venues, especially soccer specific stadiums tied to Major League Soccer, as it builds toward long-term growth.
The UFL has also set an ambitious goal of reaching 16 teams by 2033, signaling confidence in the league’s future.
That raises a big question: when will the UFL return to the West Coast?
Early speculation points to cities like San Diego and Seattle being on the league’s radar — both proven sports markets with strong fan bases.
Adding to that, Seattle Sounders FC is actively exploring building a new soccer specific stadium at the Longacres site in Renton, WA. While they currently play at Lumen Field (with a lease running through 2032), the club is aiming for a dedicated venue as they seek new investment, potentially moving away from downtown Seattle by the early 2030s.
This type of infrastructure development could align perfectly with the UFL’s expansion model.
In the end, momentum is building. Fans are paying attention, markets are opening up, and expansion is officially on the horizon for the UFL.
