I’ve never heard words more true to my life. Champions at every level, have a HC, AD & an Administration that are aligned. Same vision. If Admin doesn’t do t HEAVY lifting, good is all you can get. If you’re lucky just to be good, it’s coaching. 🍀 Been there, done that.
Coach Cam Jones@Coach_Cam_Jones

“Administrations win championships. Coaches win games… if you’re not totally into it and they’re not committed, you’re not winning. You just can’t.” True at the high school level as well… x.com/slancehoops/st…

What’s the most overrated offensive concept right now? I’ll start… Full-field progression pass concepts for high school QBs. Looks great on the whiteboard… but most kids don’t have the time or reps to truly process it on Friday nights. Give me half-field reads + built-in answers all day. What’s yours?

Love this message. Hight is great but it wont pre snap determine the right side to throw to, or set your feet in order to make that throw. Film, preparation, and work does that.
Kurt Warner@kurt13warner

I often find it humorous when ppl tell us how much “height” of a QB affects one’s ability to “see” the field!! Bc too often we are asking the WRONG questions on these types of things! Bottom line is, only the QB truly knows how much it affects them & just bc you have no problem physically seeing the defense, it has no bearing on if you can truly “see” (read) the defense! There is also something to what height do you play at - maybe this would be a great NEW weight to MEASURE the height of a QB - some QBs play with more or less knee bend, so a 6’4 QB could play like a 6’2 guy or a 6’0 guy play like a 6’2 based on their stance in the pocket! I was barely over 6’1 1/2 & I rarely (I believe all QBs are shielded at times) had a vision problem when playing in the NFL & I felt I could “see” the defense as well as anyone who ever played! Drew Brees is considerably shorter than me & he could “see” the field as well as anyone who ever played the game! My son @elijah13warner is 6’0 foot and I would put his ability to see the field up against anyone in college football based off watching every one of his snaps and MORE importantly asking him what he saw on each play!! So does height play a role in physically seeing at times - I’m sure it does! Is there a cut off line - maybe, but only shorter QBs could tell you that - bc I’ve seen many guys shorter than me “see” the field really well! And more than anything what I want to know is if a QB can “see” the field - see it physically and more importantly process what they see mentally - and for me it’s pretty easy to tell when watching tape who can “see” it and who can’t! The only question that remains is who can’t see it bc they are blocked physically and who can’t see it bc they are blocked mentally!

@KevinDeShazo Thank you for your insight. I find your posts to be both on point for leadership, but also like your style. It’s both challenging & inspirationally positive. Good work Kevin!

Short answer: it's an identity issue ("defeatist mentality". You can't outwork that. I would focus on believing better about themselves/potential, regardless of outcome. Define winning behaviors within their control - execute on those to reinforce new identity. Results eventually catch up.

Your leadership and culture are revealed in how your team handles failure and in how they handle success. No matter the circumstances, the standard is the standard. Live it.

Always fun talking to UND law students about the benefits of a law degree and legal experience in public service. Thanks to @DrewWrigley and Kjersti for being there to answer the tough questions.
