@taylortolliver @adamthebull Not one school has paid a dime in NIL money …the money comes from 3rd party entities and collectives aka boosters and alumni . Next year will be the first full year colleges will have capital to pay directly from the school with a budget of 20 mil +

@adamthebull Totally disagree. Lima made this point a few weeks ago that was also the source of my confusion. I thought before all of this that NIL was just being able to make money off your name like autographs, but it turns out the schools are just flat out paying players which is stupid

One of the worst things you can do as a player is chase schools that don’t want you and ignore the schools that would love to have you.

He literally follows this up by saying “the fans don’t like it” 🤔 if everything was about the student athlete and their development as students then why should the priority be what the fans want ? The simple answer is “MONEY” which circles back to why players are getting paid !
The Winning Difference@thewinningdiff1

To allow student athletes in all sports to enhance their quality of life, while going to college but still provide opportunity to advance themselves beyond their athletic career. Which is what the philosophy of college athletics has always been about-Nick Saban Live, learn, win.

Let me hear this take from an ATHLETE!!! They absolutely care about their education. It’s a daily conversation for me with THEM! Guess what…..Their parents care too - it’s like they believe the players can’t manage money, go to class, and perform! They got INTO college doing that exact same thing. Side job, bank account, HS & or College courses while in HS, played multiple sports, trained, homework, & travel ball of some sort….many found time for PROM 😂 What are we doing here! Bring the athletes to the table if you want TRUTH! Not social, not the ones making billions off their success, the REAL ONES!

College football's most decorated head coach Nick Saban spoke at the White House on Friday at a college sports roundtable hosted by President Trump. Saban called on lawmakers to fix issues he has seen at the collegiate level, where Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals have turned the focus away from education. "How much does anybody talk about getting an education anymore? Nobody talks about it at all, which is the most important thing any of these student athletes can do in terms of enhancing their future."

The White House college sports gathering was more pathetic than anticipated. No current athletes present. More than half of the participants didn’t get a word in. It was a ploy to push the SCORE Act, which is NCAA-friendly legislation that has no shot in the Senate (for good reason). Politicians long for the days when athletes had no rights. They actually, laughably, think they can strip away athletes’ ability to be paid above cost of attendance. Trump plans to sign an executive order that he anticipates will be rejected by the courts. His cohort complains about lawyers filing eligibility lawsuits in state court with athlete-friendly judges while Trump suggests he will try to find a judge who will comply with whatever he concocts. Trump completely misunderstands how and why athletes have become empowered over the past 5 years. He awkwardly and repeatedly blamed a judge (not by name) and was later advised that the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 against the NCAA in a seminal case (Alston), and even that case had nothing to do with NIL (many states signed laws to supersede blanket NCAA prohibitions). Charlie Baker, Greg Sankey, and others have been pressing Congress for a lifeline. I think this meeting set them back in a big way.

The most powerful meeting in college sports is happening today. Tiger Woods. Nick Saban. Adam Silver. Condoleezza Rice. Billionaire investors. Power conference commissioners. They will likely discuss an antitrust exemption to let the NCAA set its own rules without fear of lawsuits. You know isn't invited? A single college athlete. linkedin.com/pulse/newslett…

Bruce Thornton is now the all-time leading scorer in Ohio State men’s basketball history 🏀🔥 Point No. 2,097 puts him past Dennis Hopson (1983-87) for the record 👏
