My 4-year-old daughter’s first @nba game tonight in Cleveland to see our @warriors. 12 players out between both teams including 5-6 starters. Sigh. She won’t care bc she doesn’t know any players besides Steph yet but man. Disappointing to say the least

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

It’s a season-high 27 turnovers for the Warriors in a blowout loss in Detroit. Kristaps Porzingis left early with a back issue. Warriors are 33-37. They play again tomorrow night in Atlanta.

Steph Curry on what he thinks needs to happen to solve America’s basketball problem: “The ability to develop a baseline for like basketball IQ and what does that mean. There’s an epidemic in that respect. I also feel like even just the ability to allow kids to play multiple sports and be kids for as long as they can before it turns into kind of the business mentality and mindset. On the whole, I think the culture around it has kind of shifted in the wrong direction. I played multiple sports until I was 13 and then figured out what I wanted to do and what I loved. I think what I gained from playing multiple sports and the physical skill sets, the hand-eye coordination, different footwork, you’re around different people, have different demands on your body — that’s only helped me in basketball. I think there’s a lot of people trying to solve it knowing we need as much homegrown talent as possible representing the highest levels of basketball.
