This is exactly why coaches preach that every single job matters—on the field, off the field, or riding the bench. Your role is critical, and that’s what turns a group into a true TEAM! Even though this athlete wasn’t in the game, she knew she still had a job to do… and in that moment, she delivered in a massive way! Shoutout to Taylor Kittleman for being the ultimate teammate and unsung hero in the dugout. That’s how you win championships!

Sometimes your most important heroes are the unsung ones. Redshirt sophomore,Taylor Kittleman, was in the dugout and noticed that the FSU baserunner left early. She asked for Coach Bear to initiate a challenge, which eventually wiped 3 FSU runs off the board. UCF won the game 4-2. You're our hero @KittlemanTaylor! Photo credit: @UCFKnights

As an AD, I struggle to understand why some parents resist high standards for their kids. Growth doesn’t come from comfort, it comes from being pushed, being coached hard, and being held accountable. As a dad, I hate seeing my kid disappointed. But I’d rather see him face adversity now than be unprepared later. Learning to handle failure, earn your role, and fight through challenges matters more than any short term result. Winning matters. Not just on the scoreboard, but in learning how to prepare, compete, and respond when things don’t go your way. That’s what builds someone ready for the real world.

If you don’t want responsibility, don’t sit in the big chair. That’s the deal. To be successful, you must accept full responsibility. Even when it doesn’t seem fair.– Pat Summitt

You rarely see great players:. - Complain. - Blame others. - Cut corners. - Sulk. - Make excuses. - Arrive late.

In my opinion this is what is wrong with college athletics at this level. Develop the people and the athletes. What kind of example is this? What’s going to happen when these athletes come up against adversity in the real world? Going to blame and complain. Victim mindset 👎

This is what the University of Houston president and many in academics emphasized years ago when I was there. Athletic success increases prestige. It increases your reach, interest, and name recognition. Often, leading to better students and a boost in alumni donations.
HighPointHoops@HighPointHoops

Talked to a plugged-in HPU alumnus yesterday. She said within 24 hours of Wisconsin win, High Point had 19,000 requests for student tours. 19,000! Matriculation will be limited largely by logistics/space. Crazy.

The lines that stood out the most in Mike Brown's statement. "With leaders in place that took us to a Super Bowl..." "There is more work to do." "After thoughtful consideration..." "(Duke and Zac) have proven... We trust their plans." Grouping Duke Tobin and Zac Taylor together in the evaluation.

8 weeks ago I changed my team name bc @adizlady liked one of my tweets… went on a 7-2 run, squeaked into the playoffs as the 8 seed and won (bragging rights only)! Shout out to Tee’s Mom’s help ✋💪🐅
