The Del City boys advanced to the Class 5A state tournament with a thrilling 68-66 win over Midwest City in the area finals. Del City’s D’Karin Johnson scored on a tip in at the buzzer for the win. The Bombers will get another shot at state tomorrow night against Bishop McGuinnessin the area consolation finals. The game is set for 7 p.m. at Edmond North. The Carl Albert boys dropped a close one with Newcastle 56-53 in the area championship. The Titans will face Classen SAS at 7 p.m. Saturday in the area consolation finals at Piedmont. Kaleb Blackwolf (@Kaleb_Blackwolf) led all scorers with 17 points to guide Del City to a 69-46 district win over Classen SAS on Friday. Kamonz Shaw (@Kamonzfrmokc) also chipped in with 10 points to help the Eagles regain the top spot in District 5A-1. Del City is now 16-5 and have won 9 of its last 11 games with just two weeks remaining in the regular season.
