I would say that’s right but if you listen to the Scott O’Gallagher interview they’re going more towards a simulation style game so at this point people just need to get used to it I understand the fastest XP slider was there before I get it but they’re not trying to allow people to just run through road glory it’s about the experience and by experience I mean what college football is actually about

EA is taking away the freedom to enjoy the new college football game the way you want to play There aren’t even microtransactions anymore to incentivize making the game restricted and harder The smart people know where this ends, with their “live service plans in CFB 28 and beyond.” The community deserves better than this @EASPORTSCollege

Putting the sliders back in isn’t just flipping a switch. They have to do it via a title update, which has to be developed, tested, and approved by PlayStation and Xbox. That takes time. This is how live service games work in 2026. It’s not instant. The reason MTX was already removed is because they could do that Via server maintenance

We won a battle yesterday, but not the war. There’s a reason I will still never work with @EASPORTSCollege again. They reference “live service plans in CFB 28 and beyond.” Keep offline game modes pure, as a sandbox experience. It takes guts to listen to your community and back down. I’m expecting the XP sliders will be back too, but trust will have to be rebuilt over time, not off one decision. #CFBPlayDontPay

College Football 27 is awesome. I am having a blast playing it and streaming it. I understand why many creators/people are upset about the micro transactions being added out of nowhere but I play dynasty and it hasn’t changed a thing for me or how I go about playing. Mad respect for anyone that is partnered with EA risking their partnership for standing up for what they believe in. But I’m gonna keep enjoying the game. 🫡 #CFBPlayDontPay

Eric I respect you and your content but I have to say this why is everybody an uproar after the interview you did with Scott O’Gallagher it was pretty clear to me what the game was marketed as both college football and Madden the MTX is to protect the simulation that EA is selling

We got some movement but it still misses the mark. The fastest option as it was last year is still not here. Anything less than the progression that was there previously makes it look like we are being incentivized to spend money. RTG also appears to not have changed at all. These are offline single-player modes, why are we creating friction that wasn't previously there? If you simply wanted to make progression harder that's one thing. You can't make it harder while also including a way to spend money to bypass it. That's not a coincidence, that's strategic friction. Now going forward, we can only assume the modes are being designed with this intent in mind if you do not change things back to how they were. #CFBPlayDontPay

Just watched the Scott O’Gallagher interview (EA senior design director). He straight-up says they are a simulation product and will always prioritize real football solutions. That explains the NIL budgets, recruiting difficulty after year 2-3, slow coach progression, and the intentional pacing in Road to Glory/Dynasty. This isn’t from me — it’s from the guy leading gameplay design. Dynasty is built as a 30+ year journey, not a speed-run. The slow burn and optional MTX protect that simulation they’re selling. I get wanting faster progression, but the philosophy makes sense for what the game is marketed as. #CFBPlayForReal

If I wasn’t clear enough yesterday, I will never work with @EASPORTSCollege again if they don’t reverse these decisions. EA’s playbook will be to wait out the backlash. That’s why this conversation can’t stop. And trust me… we’re not the only ones who feel this way. #CFBPlayDontPay

I’m still playing the game. I’m still teaching through the game. And I’m still not spending a dollar on CUT or microtransactions. I get why people are upset. I also think everyone has a choice whether they want to spend money or not. From a business standpoint, I understand why microtransactions exist. They’re in basically every game now. That said, I don’t think the way they handled the XP sliders/paywall was the right move. Hopefully they listen and get that changed for the Dynasty community. Me personally? I’m not a Dynasty or CUT guy. I play Road to Glory (finally got on the field after grinding two seasons 😂) and Road to the College Football Playoff. I love head-to-head, and I love teaching real football through the game. I chose content over coaching because I wanted to teach football to millions instead of just one quarterback room. When you start getting messages from kids saying your YouTube videos helped them earn real-life scholarships, you realize this is way bigger than people arguing over money in a video game. So I’m going to keep posting. Keep teaching. Keep helping people understand football. And if I can entertain along the way, even better.

Death threats, defamation videos, smear campaigns. How about real conversations? With real humans? Things that actually make progress. Got grown ass men stomping their feet like children. It’s taking away from the people actually going about things the right way to make change.

EA has responded, but sounds like they’re gonna stand firm for now and double down on the changes with micro transactions They’re also using creators to push their messaging without making a statement themselves or addressing anything “the core coach level progression is unchanged from CFB 26” true, but normal is way too slow, and you REMOVED 2 faster settings They acknowledge “Fast/Faster Coach Progression was removed from Dynasty,” 0 update on a plan to bring it back ZERO mention of removing XP sliders from Road to Glory either “continuing to monitor community feedback” basically meaning we don’t wanna make a change because we think it’ll blow over lmao I can’t believe this is the response the College Football team is making.
