@Anthony_Martin2 @tclarkie9 No offense but no one a Knoxville can complain about low class as long as the baseball team continues to “no class” it’s way around the NCAA.

@JDBunkis Outplayed USA the last 2 periods but only got 1 goal. Blew 2 breakaways and missed at least 2 open nets. You lost. Crappy take.

Honestly if you’re an American celebrating that win you’re a casual who doesn’t know puck. Totally fine, grow the game.

@nwblackmon It’s the coaches job to keep his composure. If players are holding him back then he is out of line. I can be angry and still lead with class and composure. His job is LEAD. Show his players the right way. If he can’t keep his composure over a kid, maybe he shouldn’t lead

Every good staff in America advocates for their kids. And Bucky would too if the roles were reversed. But adding color here, the kid took a cheap shot at his player, opted out of a handshake line (petty but whatever), declined to apologize (small and a reflection of poor leadership but whatever), and then came back out to talk trash after losing by 20+(stupid). If Hartman engages that conduct with anger, it is righteous anger. And he certainly has a right to be heated about the play Griffen made.

I’ve covered SEC basketball a long time and this is an example of how a video doesn’t tell the whole story. Florida Associate HC Carlin Hartman, one of the best assistants in America, was defending his players. Specifically, he was defending SEC Player of the Year front runner Tommy Haugh, who was the target of a flagrant 1 elbow and shove late in the game from Texas A&M’s Rylan Griffen. The flagrant came with the Aggies down 20+ on their home floor. Haugh embodies everything right about college basketball. A 3 ⭐️ kid turned national champion turned potential All-American. There’s no place for what Griffen did in college basketball. Tensions remained after Griffen’s flagrant and Florida dominating on A&M’s home floor. Hartman, who should be a Power 5 HC soon, was doing what great coaches do and advocating for his kids. Who wouldn’t want to play for a coach like Hartman?

A #Florida assistant got into it with #Aggies players after the game and both teams had to be restrained after an 86-67 Gators win. Here's my view of what went down:

@SeeingScarlet_ Did you not read the contractual obligation part? They have logistical problems because ESPN won’t pay the people to broadcast it. So it can’t be broadcasted. lol. I agree it shouldn’t be that way. I also remember a short few years ago when none of these games were streamed

exactly. Production resource limitations. This is what every school that does not stream uses as an excuse. My argument is that's not a good enough excuse in the year 2026. There is no reason to get defensive, this isn't an attack. The point is softball fans need to stop accepting those excuses because i am here to tell you, as someone that has been in that world, they are empty excuses. Real reasons absolutely, but empty excuses bc there are real solutions if they wanted to find them. Just as some schools have started to do so. I will be equally as upset if Texas Tech is not doing it too, this has nothing to do with A&M specifically other than P4 schools certainly have way less excuse imo than others.

@SeeingScarlet_ Texas A&M softball does not stream every game in the Aggie Classic primarily due to broadcasting logistics, specifically limitations in production resources for multiple concurrent games and contractual selections by the SEC Network. From their website

@CoachCroley Check out what UCF is doing streaming every game at their tournaments whether UCF is involved or not. It’s doable.

Its espn+ not espn. Id love to see the contract. I’ve worked on that side of sports. In my experience there is most certainly a way to do this. Schools typically do not bc they don’t want to pay staff or have the staff to pay to work that many games. This is where the opportunity to train students comes in.

@SeeingScarlet_ If you stream your games to any other platforms then you are in breach of contract to ESPN. It’s not difficult to understand. It’s how the sport works. ESPN will show TU v Nebraska at UTSA. Won’t Tech vs Providence.

i dont necessarily believe that to be true tbh. its espn+ they will stream pillow fighting if you send them the feed. but even if it is. Nothing is stopping them from streaming it to YouTube or other feeds. If there is a will there is a way. It's been accepted for far too long in the sport. It's not a Texas A&M issue, its a sportwide issue.

I still think the UIL doesn't understand geography as the rubber band now has Sherman and Azle and Naaman Forest to Birdville. Richland goes to Region II.

Which do you prefer? With Greenville and Terrell? Or keep it all East Texas? We will find out next week!

@TweetsbyCoachP What happens when all these upperclassmen graduate and there are no younger kids on squads. Eventually not recruiting HS is going to bite the college game in the rear.

D2 Associate Head Coach in FL: Saw your post quoting the Texas D1 coach. 100% the consensus from everyone I know. The quick response from those outside our circles is “well you have 13-15 scholarships they all won’t play. Give that to a HS kid.” The reality is a lot of people are not filling their rosters completely & using that money to pay players more. Also, HS signees that don’t play usually transfer anyway so development is not even a good response to why take a HS that can’t help immediately. I know you get this but the “my kid is getting slept on” crew is annoying lol
William Payne@TweetsbyCoachP

D1 Head Coach in Texas today in a text: “The idea I won’t recruit a high school player is stupid! 100% I will recruit a HS player IF they are good enough. The issue is that most aren’t good enough to contribute day one and if they are good enough they aren’t available. I’ll take a HS, JUCO, International, D2, D3, NAIA, ABC, 123, or wherever else they come from IF I think they can help us win”.

@CoachCroley @marshallmavs @GDSChaz @DavidSmoak My wife's family lives in Celeste, and we're all DFW folks.. and we go eat at Tamolly's when we're wanting a little something different. I literally have a dual credit class of Blue Ridge students at my college.. we aren't "East Texas A&M" either..

@marshallmavs @GDSChaz @ProfessorDiggs @DavidSmoak Move to Greenville then ask if you are in DFW or ET. Then you will know what I’m talking about. Lived in DFW and Houston and Central. Grew up in ET. You know what ET feels like. Greenville feels like ET. That’s all you will need to know.

@CoachCroley @GDSChaz @ProfessorDiggs @DavidSmoak I mentioned more than alignment. I also mentioned media coverage. Does Greenville get Tyler TV stations or DFW? Does Greenville get covered by DMN or Tyler or Longview papers? What’s the mileage to Denison? west Mesquite? Ennis? Corsicana? Compared to most of ETX?

@CoachCroley @GDSChaz @ProfessorDiggs @DavidSmoak 100+ years of traditionally placing schools together that fit together geographically. Tell me how many times Greenville has been aligned into an East Texas district? Not often. Hardly at all in the last 25 years. Why? Because they fit the DFW footprint better.
