Love when my worlds collide! My student NEHS' Nolan Arnold (Iona Commit) & my son NB's Brent Walulak (Marist Commit) went head-to-head today. Two outstanding athletes whose rivalry will continue at the next level. Coincidentally, lona & Marist Baseball faced each other today too!

The power of belief is an incredible thing this time of year. New Egypt entered the state playoffs as a 14-seed, and four upsets later the Warriors are now South Jersey Group 1 champions for the first time in program history. 🏀 From a 14 seed to a sectional champion! 🏀 Nolan Arnold sank the go-ahead free throws in overtime as New Egypt secured a 48-46 win over Salem to bring home the South Jersey Group 1 title. Final in South Group 1: New Egypt 48, Salem 46 (OT) New Egypt takes down the No. 1 seed, wins its 4th road game and wins its first ever sectional championship as a No. 14 seed. The improbable run is complete. Warriors will play the Point Beach/Thrive winner Wednesday at Monroe.

As a coach, that's insane. Haddon Township, Penns Grove, Palmyra, and now Salem. Reminded me of Wildwood from 2019 and you know the rest by now. Props to New Egypt! Now, they probably will have to play Thrive (Wonderful) (Sarcasm)
